A close-up of one of the way too adorable, and so extraordinarily marked, Ducklings of this year
Species: Mallard or Wild Duck (Wilde eend)
Latin name: Anas Platyrhynchos
Originates from the temperate and subtropical Americas, Europe, Asia and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand and Australia.
Current status: Least Concern

That's the difference with photographs.
When you walk by the lake - it's: oh look ducks swimming across the lake/canal/whatever
When you snap a photo little duck turns into most adorable of beings.

Ooh, babies and adult Ducks, I'm always "Duckduckduck :la" Seriously, I can go a little crazy even over an adult duck, to the point where people at the zoo see me photographing something very intently and are all "what's so special over there?" and then see me busily photographing just an ordinary duck
