Description

Whern: October 19, 2021

Where: Pairi Daiza Brugelettes, Belgium

I am just so grateful for this Bird, and all the angles he provided us to photograph him from I like how you can sort of see his eyelashes here.

Species: Long-Crested Eagle (Afrikaanse zwarte kuifarend)

Latin name: Lophaetus Occipitalis

Originates from Africa.

Current status: Least Concern

Did you know:

…The Long-Crested Eagle is quite distinctive in his looks, with his long shaggy crest and all dark plumage.

…They are often called Kamusungu-Sungu in Uganda.

…It is a sit-and-wait kind of hunter, doing so from a perch while scanning the ground and swooping on prey with a gliding flight when it notices one.
