Description
It's days like this where I feel I am fighting gravity and haven't spoken for years. My tongue fills my mouth like sluggish concrete and I can't breathe without the smell of you filling my nostrils. You know, I thought we'd always be together, somehow... But everyone makes mistakes and no one can predict the future. No one could know I'd be a part of your starting over. New job... New clothes... New car... I was the last to go, I'll give you that, but now I have gone, I'm still on the floor where you left me.I'm pulling petals from your goodbye rose.
He loves me not.
He loves me not.
He loves me not.
The petals pool like I imagine my blood would and I snatch flowers off the shelf.
A random gift... He loves me not he loves me not.
An anniversary... He loves me not he loves me not.
I lay them on my wrists and pretend I am bleeding.
Then I realise I am. I'm bleeding him out. I'm throwing him away like he did me. Like he would a flower with no petals. I'm rebelling, I'm starting over like he secretly thought I never would. The shelf's keepsakes shatter in the bin.
I love him not.
