This is actually a deviation I uploaded about three-ish years ago, but got deleted when I posted the actual screenshots beside my human!Beast interpretations. Lesson learned, DA. Here's the revamped version.Here's the original Artist's Comments:
Working with kids lets me watch all sorts of Disney movies on a regular basis ^____^ The other day we watched Beauty and the Beast (as if you couldn't tell) and the whole time I tried to picture the beast as a person (Prince Adam? I think that's his name...). Because in the end we only see the beast's human form making lovey-dovey faces... and if he was the kind of person that had to be cursed because of his cruelty and temper, I'm sure faces like this were seen by his servants most often.
In case you couldn't tell, this was taken shot for shot from the "Beast asks Belle to dinner" scene.
Beast: But she's being so DIFFICULT!

I honestly finished watched B&B not even two minutes ago, and I was thinking the exact same thing. It would be awesome if someone could re-do the movie, but have Adam in his human form. Like, say the curse was 'everyone will SEE you as a Beast', but he's still human and as the movie goes you see him as he sees himself- in human form. ...'Tis a little confusing, I know.
ANYWAYS, sorry for that long rant.

I like it! I always did try to picture what Prince Adam was like before the transformation. Although I re-watched the movie the other day... They mentioned that the spell on the castle had been in effect for 10 years when Belle showed up, and Prince Adam was about to turn 21 (Legal age for the win!). So he would've been 11 when the spell was originally cast. WTF Sorceress-disguised-as-beggar-lady, give the kid a break! You gonna hideously transform every kid who looks at you funny?

Actually, if you think of him as a bratty preteen who was cursed for being horrible to people, then lived half-feral in his castle with nobody to talk to except his servants for the next ten years, it explains a lot about his personality.
The hissy fits, the sulking, the terrible table manners despite being royalty (turn an eleven-year-old boy into a big monster and how long do you think he'll keep trying to eat with a spoon?), the childlike happiness over little things like birds eating out of his hands or Belle liking the library, the social ineptitude...
He's a great big lonely kid who never had a reason to mature until he met Belle. Makes so much sense.

Oh my goodness, I so agree! All I ever think when I watch that part of the movie is, "Man, the kid's probably starting to go through puberty anyways, good job making it harder on him!"
