I was scared I would get his colours wrong because i'm not very good at matching pencils to digital. pfft

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
For a long time after I first started posting artwork online, everyone thought I was a boy. :'D
But really, everything you've said is completely fine, and i'm not too sure why you're so concerned about it.
