曙を知らずに春の眠りかな
akebono wo shirazuni haru no nemuri kana
unaware of the dawn-
a spring slumber

the haiku is adapted from a tangshi by the poet from tang dynasty, Meng Haoran.
春眠不觉晓，处处闻啼鸟
夜来风雨声，花落知多少

--春晓，孟浩然

unaware of the dawn, a spring slumber
birds' song is heard everywhere.
last night i heard the rain and the wind
i wonder how many flowers had fallen to the ground.
