寝坊を覚ます今夜も不眠
matomo ni shunkou hanatsu mitsuami ya
nebou wo samasu konya mo fumin

right at my face,
her hair braids radiate the light of spring
waking a sleepy head,
i shall be sleepless tonight

a pencil sketch for one of the images in the haiga girls' series i posted on my art account. .
i colored it so that it matches the sense of colors, lights and shadows of the whole series.

i am also submitting this as an entry to the HAIGA contest in the #the-haiku-club .

HAIGA Contestafter a three month break and some struggle to (eventually) clearing up all the contest backlog, we are now free to host a new contest. the contest HAIGA will be open from the day this journal goes public till 15:59:59 Friday 15 March, 2013 in GMT. this contest is looking for haijin to write an original haiku/tanka and make a minimalistic, relevant and matching picture to accompany the haiku. the picture can be either a photograph or a painting/drawing. rules and regulation for the contest are as follow: please submit your entries to the contest folder "2013 - Haiga". the entries will be automatically approved. you can submit entry as long as you are a member of this club. every member can submit up to two entries, only one can win. the entries have to be new deviations made after today. the picture must be made by the haijin him/herself. please do not use stock i

but, since i am a member of the panel of judges i can't win the contest. never mind, this is just to support the club's contest and plus, i like to do haiga a lot.
