i've improved so much in only 3 years and i'm pretty proud of myself! slate girl is basically slate blue rabbit genderbent.

the first one is an absolute monstrosity. the thigh gap is enormous and the lines are all squiggly since i drew it with a mouse. the worst part is? i actually thought it was really good! plus, it was meant as a gift for slate blue rabbit. and if i were giving it as i am today then i'd be ashamed. just look at the length of the head and the FACE! also, what even are those clothes?! overall, this drawing is really plain and just way too out of wack!

the second one is drawn with a tablet-- and the head is much too large. surprisingly, the body anatomy is actually okay but it's stiff. plus, the thigh gap problem is STILL A THING. the face is decent, but it feels a bit too blank. plus, the shading is all wrong. the clothes obviously changed to be a bit less... crazy. also, what on earth is going on with that arm behind her back? the background is also pretty funky. i dont think i'd figured out that i could use line pressure since i had first begun using sai and my drawing tablet, so that definitely makes the drawing more stiff and not very pleasing to look at.

now-- the third one is obviously my favorite and the most recent. this time, the head's size is reduced by a lot, and i also added fur to give the animal look. i changed the shirt to a simple bright pink and added shirt wrinkles that are probably accurate enough to say the least. the shorts definitely had a big change, going from some weird ass miniskirt to a weird blue wavy rectangle with a scribble on it to normal black shorts with a simple color scheme. the pink contrasts nicely with the black, which makes it enjoyable to look at. i also changed the necklace from a weird little yellow flower thing to a black star. in this drawing, my anatomy is greatly improved although the left hand and arm (your right) look a little wacky. the ears are my favorite; this time instead of a straight line they're bent and give more character to the drawing. the pose isn't stiff anymore and i overall really enjoy the way this drawing is executed. i also love how the black background with the splashes of color (see full picture by clicking the link to know what im talking about) makes slate stand out.
