What does the script mean that is written in the circle around him ?

i never fully understood this creature but nevertheless made my art tribute thou only thing i see in this abomination is reflection of christians fears and hypocrisy (and if the story is true it was i cheap way to avoid paying certain sum of borrowed money to a famous order of cross wearing plunderers )
works of Levi while retaining the nameΒ gave It quite different meaning so it wouldΒ be fair to look upon them as of two different creatures
but most likely i miss the whole poin of the balance thingΒ It represents
this thing is ugly and repulsive but your works are passionate and quite eye catchy
as certain friend of mine says things beautifully drawn but inherently ugly are the most memorable

This is a C/P from a book by E.Levi explaining his view on Baphomet, The Sabbatic Goat.
A pantheistic and magical figure of the Absolute. The torch placed between the two horns represents the equilibrating intelligence of the triad. The goat's head, which is synthetic, and unites some characteristics of the dog, bull and ass, represents the exclusive responsibilities of matter and the expiation of bodily sins in the body. The hands are human, to exhibit the sanctity of labour; they make the sign of esotericism above and below, to impress mystery on the initiates, and they point at two lunar presents, the upper being white and the lower black, to explain the correspondences of good and evil, mercy and justice. The lower part of the body is veiled, portraying the mysteries of universal generation, which is expressed solely by the symbol of caduceus. The belly of the goat is scaled, and should be colored green; the semi-circle above should be blue; The plumage, reaching to the breast, should be of various hues. The goat has female breasts, and thus its only human characteristics are those of maternity and toil, otherwise the signs of redemption. On its forehead, between the horns and beneath the torch, is the sign of microcosm, or the pentagram with one beam in the ascendant, symbol of human intelligence, which, placed thus below the torch, makes the flame of the latter an image of the divine revelation. This panthers should be seated on a cube, and its footstool should be a single ball, or a ball and a triangular stool.
Really nice remake MVP666, I like the sigils and what seems to be the holy grail, amongst other symbolism.Β
I'm a bit confused about the HVHI part though...I've heard both IHVI and YHVH but never HVHI! Got a explanation for me?

hmm... it interesting to read you comments - they are honest and have meaning. Β I like this creature, because it's full of symbolism, and it's not a merit of Leli. He just first who draw baphomet openly and shows to the world. i have my own vision and explanation of this half-man, half-goat, half-god. So, why not?
