How many times can a piece of art be modified and still be considered new?

This is the third time I've changed this piece. I originally changed the head and a whole load of other stuff after I'd initially uploaded it a long time ago.

Now, I haven't actually submitted or drawn anything new in some time, but I decided today, totally randomly, I STILL wasn't happy with how the head looked in the v2 of this, so I decided to draw a new one from scratch and then surgically transplant it into the picture. Whilst I was at it I decided to clean a few of the lines up and add in a few little bits of extra detail. I really must try and do some new stuff soon...
