With a sudden gust of air, Angela's frilly dress puffed up like a parachute and gently glided to her feet. The further towards the floor her hemline reached, the more it was adorned with new layers of lace. Angela looked down. She couldn't see her feet, but she could definitely feel the flutter of long bloomers on her legs. Soon, her view of her dress was blocked by a large bow tying itself around her neck. She looked up to see a matching bonnet flop just out of sight. Her bright yarn hair began to slowly unwind into thick, rosy ringlets.

Her thickened limbs began to shrink, almost as though all the fabric and stuffing was condensing into something harder. She could see her arms taking on a slight sheen. Angela wobbled a bit as she tried to take a few dainty steps with her stiff legs. "Living doll or no," she decided, "I am not to be played with."

Angela gingerly tiptoed out of the archives in search of a shelf big and beautiful enough to suit her.
