Description
Here's 's cyberpunk gal, Bit! TrentHarlow recently stated in a journal that he doesn't do commissions, but he listed several 3D artists that do take commission work. B/c I'm shameless and looking to make a quick buck, I asked if he could throw my icon in his journal to show that I take commissions and he obliged!
One good turn deserves another, so I figured I'd return the favor of him doing me a solid with a little bit of gift art! Being a fan of muscular cyborg gals, of course I just had to take a stab at creating Bit!
Even though he doesn't take commission work, you should go and check Trent's gallery out especially if you're a fan of sexy 3D ladies!

I've been okay. Working and drawing these days. The laptop I do my scanning on has been retired, so I am waiting to get a new one. How life been for you?

Dang...hope you're able to get that new laptop/cpu soon! Are you still a Bojangles Soldier?
Life's been pretty good for me...still getting adjusted to married life and thinking about kids, just finished my first week at a brand new job, and still trying to get the hang of using Daz 3D. I've been somewhat tapped for ideas on characters and stories, but hopefully I can get something going soon.

Been at the same Bojangles since 2009.Gonna celebrate my ten year anniversary near the end of the month.
Glad that you and the misses are doing well. Don't try to rush into having children. They are a blessing from God to be sure, but they are life-changing events that shouldn't be taken lightly. I believe however, that the Good Lord with see you two though.
What job did you get? Are you still in the Christian education field?
You been doing quite well with the 3D art. Looks like you really found your niche.
As far as characters, did you have a base idea in mind? I know of you love for cyborg women, but what is it that you like about them? Maybe piggybacking off of your answer to that question will help with your creative block.

Congrats for your almost 10th work anniversary at the big Bo! I don't get to eat Bojangles as much as I'd like to since the Bojangles here in ATL aren't as plentiful as they are in the Carolinas...but my wife and I stopped at one in Charlotte, NC on our way to see fam up in Virginia! I wish they would open one up closer on my side of town.
And it looks like things are progressing a lot faster than we expected with the kid thing....we took a home pregnancy test two days ago...and after taking it three different times on three different days (Thursday, yesterday, and today 3/2...maybe 30 minutes before I started this reply) every result was positive!!!! My wife's got an appointment with an OB/GYN next week so that we can get a confirmation...so it looks like it's go time!
My new job is for an IT firm and I'm going to be conducting e-learnings and training for new employees at a specific law firm. So far, it seems pretty cool...pays more than what I was making, pretty laid back and casual, and all of that good stuff. I do still feel the call to be in vocational ministry, but of course the Lord does things on His own timing.
And thanks with the 3D stuff...I'm still trying to figure this thing out and definitely need to upgrade my laptop to really take advantage of Daz. I see so many great renders and I wish that my stuff looked nearly as great as it does. I hope to graduate to Z-Brush one day, so that I can make/design my own 3D textures and such!
And I guess I still have the base story for Nikki in mind...I know I've taken her all over the place story wise, but I've since made the decision to wipe the slate clean to undo all of the mess that I've created for her. I guess I just need to buckle down and concentrate harder on completely fleshing that out. I think what it is is that I don't exactly know what is Nikki's purpose of being a superheroine. I suppose that I could just make cool images and not worry so much about a story, but I just can't shake that feeling of needing to write a story!

Oh snap! Marcus could be a father by Christmas! What a present!
The misses and I got a brand spanking new laptop from Best Buy last night. It hasn't been set up yet, but I am still happy!
As for Nikki, I can understand about an OC needing a propose to exist. Do you want her to be a superhero or maybe a hybrid of some sort? Maybe an antihero or even a villian protagonist? I am just spitballing here ;feel free to disregard any and all ideas.

I know, right?!!? It's looking like it's gonna be in Nov at some point. It happened so fast!!!! But I'm excited and I'm looking forward to fatherhood!
And nice!!! Congrats on the new laptop! May you use it to create lots of cool African warrior woman art!
As for Nikki, when I first created her she was only supposed to be a cyborg athlete. However, with the rise of the Angel Falls group that used to exist here in DA, I decided to go the superhero route with her. It started off fine, but I just kept going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole as time went on. That's why I wanted to hit the reset button. BUT...even as I typed this, my proverbial "hitting of the reset button" goes back to before this story arc
rather than thinking of her purely as an athlete and nothing else. I guess the goal is to get her to transition from being an athlete to becoming more of a heroine.

I think the best path to go with Nikki's hero journey would be to explore WHY she would want to be a hero as oppose to a rich and famous athlete.

you need to let it render more but overall very good.

Thanks!
What do you usually set your render time for? I think this was set for at least 4 hours. Is there a good average time to let it render for?

Gordon228 In reply to Mr-Marcus-81 [2019-02-26 05:54:31 +0000 UTC]
I usually do not use backgrounds but if I do I tend to make sure it renders longer then 4 hours. also too what can help is hiding all the stuff that you can't see like the legs as even tho you can't see them in the render does not mean they are not still there. the best thing to do it see some settings to max and render time is one of them and the other is how many iterations it can have also set the convergence to 100%. also too what I have read is that lighting can speed up the render. also having a good nvidea gfx card mixed with a good CPU can help speed up times. 4 hours was my old rig for a 9x16 render aka 1080x1920.

I have seen that hiding all of the unseen bits helps keep render speeds down. I have seen the most about lighting, and that's what I've been trying to focus on and even still have a ways to go to figure out how to make the most of how to use lighting to enhance my renders.
But I think one of my biggest hindrances is that I don't have a good video card or RAM on my laptop to handle Daz. Perhaps when I can get caught up on bills and such, plus a nice vacation for my wife and I, I'll invest in a new computer with high RAM, memory (good grief Daz is brutal on HD space!!!), and a NVIDIA graphics card. Thanks for the pointers!

no prob also too one thing I do although it makes the renders take more time is limit Daz's CPU use. thus you can do stuff on your computer while it's rendering in the background.

I don't think I have much of a choice but use the CPU since I don't have a special video card.

Are you using a custom skin? Also how are you doing the scene? I could probably do a mock up to see how it looks on my end
