Update 12/30/14: Another revamp to an oldie, but goodie to reflect current happenings!!! And sorry...the cyber-dreds were finally ditched. I know, they looked cool, but meh...
Most of the info below in the story very inaccurate now; it's several years old. But...I'm too tired to change it now, so if you want to read it anyway, by all means help yourself!
The Upgrade

Deep in the laboratories of the Angel Falls Police Department the song "I Don't Give A..." by Peaches reverberates as a rather heavy set punker female rocks out to the driving beat. She bangs her head and repeat the explicatives as she dances while working. The plus sized, yet very attractive girl is clad in a silver form fitting full bodysuit; her name badge on her right breast read "Techna" as well as the bodysuit was adorned with the acronym of the AFPD in various locations on her body. Although her bodysuit covered most of her, her fingers are exposed and her nails are painted black. Her brown hair is short and bobbed with the tips dyed black and has been cut asymmetrically to where the right side is a bit longer than the left side. She wore heavy eyeshadow and mascara on her eyes which accented her soft blue eyes; the shade of lipstick that she wore was slightly just a little darker than her natural lip color. Her ears both have multiple piercings as well as she has piercings in her eyebrows and lip. Underneath her bodysuit, her body is adorned with several elaborate tattoos in multiple spots...true to her Punk roots.
Although the chubby 24 year old girl looked like a member of some off-kilter rock band, Techna's actually a brilliant scientist. Born Jetta Chambers, she has always been a child protege as she graduated high school at the age of 13 and attained her bachelors at 17 years old. She went on to receive her doctorates in both Cybernetics and Bio-Engineering at age 21, graduating Summa Cum Laude at the top of her class. Jetta has always been a wiz when it comes to anything involving technology, computers, and machinery...she's good for disassembling things and putting them back together, often improving the object in the process of reassembly; that's how she earned the nickname Techna. Jetta was quickly hired by B.E.C.A. as a lab technician upon her completion of Graduate School where she would assist in the maintenance of the cyborg agents, weapons, vehicles, and accessories that the B.E.C.A. agents utilized in the battlefield.
While working for B.E.C.A., she was able to get really close to several of the cyborg agents that she often worked on...most notably Raina Hunter, Simone Rattica, Onnica Graves, and Cyra-2. While they were being treated like machines and such, Techna has always been compassionate and still realized that no matter just how cybernetic her patients may be, they were still human underneath all of the machinery. In return, the cyborg women that Techna cared for often stood up for her when the other misogynistic and chauvinist male technicians would tease and insult Jetta because of her weight and blow her off because she was a female. Upon her relocation to Angel Falls to help reform the Special Crimes Unit of the AFPD, Raina Hunter was placed in charge of choosing several people to assist her in her Cybercops Unit. Along with choosing Simone Rattica and Cyra-2 aka Deuce, she also recently requested to have Jetta moved to Angel Falls and placed her in charge of being head technician for the AFPD SCU.
Jetta hasn't been in Angel Falls for a week yet, but she loves the excitement that the big city has to offer. Being a bit of a country girl at heart, she's having fun adjusting to big city life...especially in a city on the magnitude of Angel Falls. As soon as she arrived to Angel Falls, she had her work cut out for her....Deuce had gotten into a scrap with the villainous Trio of Terry Keller, Michelle Fisher, and Jessica Gottfried and by the end of it Deuce herself was reduced to a pile of cybernetic scraps to the point of Deuce's body not even resembling that of a humanoid anymore; the Trio of Terror had succeeded in nearly destroying Deuce completely. Many times before Techna has performed miracles in repairing extremely damaged cyborgs, several of those times it was usually Deuce that was the one with the most extreme damage because of her reckless nature.
This time was even more critical...Techna barely had anything left of Deuce to repair. She was able to save most of Deuce's brain and most of her face...everything else was damaged too badly to even attempt to repair. And even then Techna was barely able to get Deuce's brain wave's back online after she connected Deuce to life support machines and such to keep her alive, yet after a bit of perseverance was able to save Deuce before she went offline for good. Techna had to start from scratch and completely build Deuce a brand new body...being that Deuce is one of her good friends and favorite subjects to work on, she went all out on the new cyborg body. Taking ideas from many video games that she likes to play, Techna devised of ways to make Deuce's new body much stronger than her previous one to prevent Deuce from nearly being destroyed ever again. After several long and restless days of reconstructing and rebuilding Deuce's new body, she's was able to rock out a little bit and relax as she prepared to re-activate her cyborg friend.
Jetta walks over to a computer console to where the wires of the computer are connected to Deuce, who's already standing amidst wires, tubes, and other mechanical gadgets. Her bottom lip hung open and her right eye was wide open as it stared into oblivion...although open, no one was home. Before she was critically damaged by Fisher, Keller, and Gottfried her bald head was one of her trademarks...however the back of her head was badly damaged and Techna had to replace her whole skull from the scalp line back with dense metal put in place to protect the fragile remains of what was left of her organic brain. Her left ocular socket had been demolished and was now completely mechanical thanks to repairs, several wires and tubes connected to it. Jetta pressed a few more buttons while continuing to dance; Deuce's open right eye began to glow red and she gasped as energy shot throughout her mechanical body.
Techna walks up to Deuce and proceeds to remove the wires and tubes connected to her.
"Denise....Wakey wakey sleepy head! Time to make the donuts!"
Deuce's hollow and synthesized voice crackles as she attempts to speak. She sounded very similar to someone on a cell phone with bad coverage.
"-zzzt- Jet...Jetta? -zzzt zzzt- Is that you, girl?"
"Well, at least your memory banks weren't that badly damaged...you still remember me! What's up, old friend?"
"What are you -zzzzt- doing here?"
"Well, Raina called me up and asked if I'd come down here to Angel Falls to help her out with this police stuff and take a job as head tech for the SCU. With all of my favorite folks like you, her, and Monie gone I found myself very bored back there at B.E.C.A. HQ. I figured it was time for a change and now I'm here in the big city! So far, I'm lovin' it...traffic's a bit much to deal with and the people here aren't friendly and polite like I'm used to but it's better than my podunk ass hometown! There's all kinds of cool Punk bars and music venues here to check out, and you know just how much I love my Punk rock! Plus my old college roommate and bestie Paulina lives here and she's always been telling me how cool it is here!
And Hey, money-wise working here for the police department beats what I was making back for B.E.C.A, plus I'm in charge of the lab this time! And from the looks of it, I got here right on time...otherwise I don't know if I could've saved your metal ass after what happened to you! I see you're still up to your reckless ways...geez, you almost didn't make it this time, Denise. Keep this up and you'll be a full blown robot before it's all said and done if you don't get destroyed altogether! I don't know how many more times I can bring you back and repair you from this kind of damage...there's only a little bit of your actual organic brain tissue left! *sigh* Some things never change I guess."
"Yeah...you know me; I like to go all out with both guns a' blazin'! But I was -zzzt- ambushed this time, honest. I was doing a routine procedure response to a meta-crime and those bitches got the -zzzt- drop on me...I -zzzt- did my best to at least defend myself, but altogether they were too powerful for me and I didn't stand a chance. I barely even remember what happened...I -zzzzt zzzt zzzt- just remember getting hit in the face really hard and my left eye going offline...the last thing I actually remember was looking up and seeing the big muscular bitch rip the bottom half of my body apart, then she took my severed limbs and taunted me with them and stomped on my head several times before my systems shut down completely. -zzzt zzzt- Damn, I'd like to get my hands on those bitches and make them pay!"
"Dammit...hold on a sec, I'm gonna figure out why your voice synthesizer is doing that!" Jetta said as she made an adjustment to a wire in Deuce's neck. "Ah...I see what it is...I crossed some wires and connected them to the wrong spots, you should be good to go now. So...how do you feel? Anything weird or abnormal?"
With the adjustment, Deuce's voice had ceased crackling and sounded less hollow and digitized. "I feel....I feel fine I guess. A little discombobulated, but I'm guessing that I'm just adjusting to my new body. I can't see out of my left eye though."
"Oh yeah...you were so damaged, that literally I've spent the last few days rebuilding this new body for you! Unfortunately, that 'hard hit' that you took to your left eye was a shot from a high caliber sniper rifle...that really caused some major damage to your ocular cavity as well as the left side of your cranium. I had to go and completely replace everything on that side with cybernetics...and to protect against that in the future I made you this." Techna grabbed a helmet and placed it on Deuce's head as it fastened into several ports.
"It's not quite that hair that you've been always wanting, but it's something....it'll keep that brain of yours in your head this time, what's left of it at least! And this is your new ocular unit!" Techna then grabs the hi-tech optical device and plugs it into the corresponding ports and docks where her left eye once was. The screen of the ocular implant illuminated as soon as it was connected to Deuce's face. "Can you see out of it now?"
"Yes."
"That ocular implant is pretty bitchin' if I do say so myself. Targeting, zooming, panning, night vision, heat vision, X-Ray vision, and the whole nine...that implant can do it all. We can also keep track of what you see here back at base for detective and security purposes. I'm gonna turn on the monitor to test it out...go ahead and look around at different stuff."
"Wow...this thing is amazing. I can see your heart beating inside of your chest! I'm able to read all of your vitals just by looking at you...whoa...now I can see through the walls! Ooh...check this out...for some reason I see into the men's locker room at all of the naked men folk taking showers! Boing-yoing yoing yoing!!!!!"
"Hey...that eye isn't supposed to be used for perverted peeping tom purposes, missy! Waitaminute....zoom in on the blond guy on the left with the tattoos real quick....he's hot!"
"Wow, he's packin' some major pole there!"
"I say got damn....he is hung like a stud! Alright alright, enough of that...I'm starting to get hot and bothered here! I went all out on this new body for you...you should thank me! This was supposed to be the new body that was for Det. Cyborg, who I understand was severely damaged by that Ultrawoman chick that I've been hearing about so much several months ago. They sent her head and brain to me to fix her back when I was still at B.E.C.A., but I've been having problems getting her brainwaves to stay stable so I can't give her any kind of new body yet.
Plus, of course I'm gonna hook my friends up first! This body is basically the upgrade to the Cyra-2 body that you already had, I just modified the specs here and there a bit, streamlined the design, and added some clicks bells and whistles to it. Retractable gunports, jet boosters, plasma shields, nearly-impenetrable armor, a stealth cloaking implant, self-repair, hidden emergency gun turrets, EMP dampeners....the whole shebangabang!
And speaking of hair, I've got another little gift for you!" Techna grabs a device that has several chrome cables connected to it and jingled it in front of Deuce.
"What the hell is that?"
Techna raises her eyebrows playfully as she walks behind Deuce and plugs the device into the back of her head. She then pulls a mirror out and hands it to Deuce.
"Merry Christmas!!!! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get synthetic hair for you, especially since much of your skull was destroyed, but remember that one time a while ago when you and I were joking about cyber-hair weaves?
"Girl stop....no you didn't..."
"Oh, but I did! I made you a cyber-ponytail! I just took some old cables and hooked them up that connection. Plus, there are those Cybercom Collective Drone chicks that are prancing around here with bald heads and stuff and I don't want anyone to confuse you with one of them....you know, with the whole bald headed cyborg chick thing and all? You stand out now!"
Deuce examines herself in the mirror and turns her head to see the peripheral that was made to resemble a ponytail. She then playfully puckers her lips and blows kisses to her reflection. "I really dig it...it actually looks good and not tacky! Now I at least look like a female and not a bald headed tank with boobs and a nice ass. Gurrrrrl.....I got me a cyba'-weave!" Deuce flung her new "cyber-ponytail" with her hand and giggled at herself as she mocked a stereotypical ghetto girl.
Techna laughed at her friend's silliness and her approval of her new design. "And when you retire from being a warrior cyborg, you can always be a cyborg-beautician and do hair and nails or something and use my cyba-weave hair care products!!!"
"All of the cyba-sistas in the hood is gonna want one of these! And I'm not just gonna stop with doing hair and nails. I'm gonna open a day spa for cyborgs...synthetic oil baths, circuit massages, armor waxing, and all of that good stuff! Us machine-people need to be pampered every once in a while too!"
"You're a nut Deucie...I missed you and the girls so much! But now I'm here and hopefully everything will be back to normal...my next project is to get Simone to lighten up a bit!"
"Good luck with that one...I'm a laugh riot and I have the hardest time just to get that girl to crack a smile. She's always so 'I-am-a-cyborg-that-is-illogical-and-irrelevant-objective-complete....yadda yadda yadda. I'm glad I'm not that bad....I see my programming as more of a suggestion rather than being mandatory!"
"Well, perhaps we'll be able to help her get in touch with her human psyche fully once again. But if you don't be more careful out there and quit getting your brains blown out, I'm gonna have to program you like a robot just to keep you functioning! But this new body I built for you is pretty durable, so I hope you'll be okay. Alright...that should do it, you're all ready to go. I'm just gonna need for you run through the combat simulator so I can check all of your systems to make sure that you're running at optimal levels and that everything is fine-tuned and in tip top shape. Raina told me to tell you to report to her upon your re-activation to receive your next objectives and orders."
With that, Deuce activated her deployable gunports in her legs and removed her custom made mega-high caliber handguns capable of bringing even the strongest metahumans to a standstill and stood there in a ready stance before heading to the combat simulator room to test drive her new body.
"Good...I'm itchin' for some action...time to get it in!!!"

My light has been on but I have not been present. When I thought I would have time to read on my vacation I didn't have the time I thought I would. I like to savor my reads and because of that weird thing about me, I won't read until I have at least a good two hours because I always somethings over.
I thank you so much for being patient with me. I've been spending a little time on Polyvore...because I've been absent so long on there. It is a very consuming site but I like it because I can make mindless art their and I've been needing that lately.

Just had a vision of her in friendly competition with DC Comic's Cyborg...both GLEEFULLY trying to one-up the other...!

And you're right...Deuce isn't much of the shy type when it comes to men. She is a little self-conscious considering that almost all of her body is mechanical, but her personality is exactly the same as it was when she was fully human! I like the idea of her and Cyborg one-upping each other...maybe even on a date with one another!
