It's been several years since I first awakened in this very chamber after undergoing the initial surgeries that transformed me into a cyborg after the near fatal fighter jet crash which I was involved in. Actually, I would like to think of it more as an evolution than a transformation. Upon an introspective look of my life prior to my cybernetic conversion, the average person would say that I led an accomplished life. However, knowing what my motives were at that stage in my life compared to my current standards, my life was quite the disappointment.

Other than the fact that I wasn’t yet a transhuman, my problem wasn’t that I didn’t have the tools for success...my talents and attributes were as impressive as they could be for an above-average peak-level human with no augmentations. My limitations and shortcomings came in the form of limited illogical reasoning and poor emotional intelligence thanks to the simple fact that I was a human. I was fixated on the wrong things...I wanted money to buy the expensive material things that I thought would bring me happiness. I aspired for fame and attention for all the wrong reasons. And the stark reality was that I wasn't skilled or talented enough beyond being good at taking orders from people who I deemed superior to me, and manipulating those who I sensed were weaker than me.
