Here's the lines to my entry for the "Kick My Own Ass" contest that is currently hosting. For those of you that aren't familiar with the gist of a "kick my own ass" contest it's very simple....the artist is to take an old piece of art that they did and redo it. The point is to show just how much progress and growth of an artist.

I have a couple of older pics that I really like and would like to redo at some point, but I posted a poll as to which one that folks really wanted to see redone and they voted for this pic here featuring the dominant and dead sexy Raina Hunter, which is actually great b/c I've been having Raina on the brain for the last 2 weeks or so and have been wanting to do something new with her. The original lines to this are about 2 years old and was originally supposed to be a trio pic featuring Raina and her two partners/best friends Lizzie Dutch and Onnica Graves (both who will make an appearance here on DA very soon!) but I never got around to finishing the full piece.

If you'll notice the remake you'll see that I've added a few new things to Raina....most noticeably is her hair has been chopped down to shoulder length. I was looking at my stuff a while ago and saw that both Sapphira and Raina's long black hair was a bit too similar in design, and being that I've been in the revamping mood I decided that it was about time that I change up Raina's look just a bit. I think she looks really good with her new hairstyle. I'm not gonna stop with shortening her hair...I plan on revamping her B.E.C.A. agent all purpose battlesuit, as I think it's time for her to resume her duties as a cyborg soldier and for us to see that not only is Raina a great hand to hand fighter, but she's surgical with guns and a few other weapons!

You might also notice that Raina's less bulky and more streamlined than she has been as well...now that I have a better grasp and understanding of anatomy, I don't have to make her super bulky with definition lines everywhere to emphasize that she's muscular. I want her, and most of my other gals, to look more She-Hulk/Power Girl muscular and less like female bodybuilders. I also changed the name of the piece to the Perfect Weapon, b/c I've been thinking about changing Raina's nickname of "Bonecrusher" and the Perfect Weapon was a cool one that came to mind. Being that she is an extremely powerful cyborg warrior with unmatched fighting and combat skills with looks to die for, "The Perfect Weapon" would indeed be a fitting moniker for Ms. Hunter here!

****For you Angel Falls folks, Raina just might be relocating to Angel Falls and taking a position in the Special Crimes Unit of the AFPD as a Cybercop! She's filled out her application, had her 1st and 2nd interviews, and is waiting for her drug and background check to go through. Now, she's just waiting to get that phone call to let her know if she's in or not....she's very much qualified and after seeing this [link] I think there might be a new opening in the SCU unit! Stay tuned!!!****

I think I could've done a bit better, but I'm happy so far! Can't wait to see it with colors. It's truly amazing to see just how far Raina has come, as it's been 10 years since I first created her! Colors on this one coming soon!
