I am also working on commisar costume, (you may check it if you want), and I would add more red and gold. Warhammer loves over the top decorations and symbolism!

Sorry, I didnt know its some kind of particular commissar. But In general, Red and Gold details are commissars trademarks. I made purity seals from "Fimo" modeling clay, because wax is pretty unreliable material, which probaly wouldnt survive one day on sci-fi con (not talking about real battle, I cant Imagine how they seals can remain intact) Also: If you are not wearing glasess permanently like I do, you can try to make "mechanical eye" from red photo filter.

Yes if i was doing a general purpose Commissar i'd have put alot more detailing.
My seals are on my carry case so they're safe, i'd use something durable for an actual costume.

Try a bigger laspistol perhaps, a plastic sword won't do either. It looks to civic tool; this could easily be solved by adding boots instead of shoes. Another option is an adapted version of a military jacket. Adapted, since it must look like 40k of course. The trench coat is good, nothing to be noted about that. The book in your pocket is a nice detail. A little more symbols would be great too, after all it's a commissar!

I am guessing a lot of imperial aquilas. Your best would be however to look at commissar models, both originals and converted, and take inspiration from that.

Very good, some Distinction Lace on the edge of the French Cuffs would work well too there are a few stores on eBay that sell it cheap.

I especially like the hat and laspistol, it all works rather well. You also definitely have the jawline for it; makes you look rather imposing.
I think it all needs a lot more flash, though. I'd recommend going down to Joann's or some other kind of fabric store and getting a bunch of red and gold piping and frills. You could make some epaulets [link] and add piping along your coat and hat. It'd make it look much more regal, and just more 40k-ish in general.
Also, while I'd only recommend doing this if you have the cash, I'd get a pair of jackboots, or something like that. Soviet and East German ones tend to be relatively cheap (only about $100 or so).

I'm hoping to get a dark red sash, preferably with gold trim.
As for the coat and hat, i can't really change it too much or permanently, they're not mine :/
I'm getting a pair of boots at some point, so i'll be sure to post a photo with the boots, just for you
