Going into the match with "Shotgun" Shepard Nguyen; a 19 year old, quick handed 2nd generation "punches in bunches" style of fighter, Sam knew she was going to be eating a punch or two as per the usual when fighting these type of boxers. With the added bonus of Nguyen being relatively new to the fight game, Sam knew there wouldn't be much for a scouting report to properly research and study the fighter so must anything Sam would learn about him would be in the ring. But Sam knew she would be getting into these types of fights every now and then with her being so low on the ladder thanks to her starting fighting men before working her way up to the big fighters on top.

So it came to the middle of the 4th, and as predicted Shepard was getting his shots in, doubling up the punch count per round over Sam as her left eye began to swell up. But much to Sam's surprise Nguyen took a lot of risks to get in close to Sam, almost needlessly so like he was daring Sam to hit him, leading to exchanges where he would land a good combo to her pretty face with Sam only landing a single blow.
But one thing Sam learned quickly upon the fists landing upon her jaw was Nguyen's recklessness far exceeded his punching power and easily able to soak up his combinations. The opposite of Sam, Nguyen was feeling the effects of Sam's end of the exchange as his breathing labored and some of the snap was being lost in his volleys, but he stayed aggressive.
The aggressiveness sadly led to his downfall as Sam lured Nguyen him back into another exchange, taking another pair of his punches to her face as spit and sweat sprayed about from the blows, but now with Nguyen now open as he threw his reckless punches and Sam not feeling the effects of them, now was able to properly react. Sneaking in under a big cannon of a shot from Nguyen and responding with a crushing uppercut perfectly landed to the point of the younger fighters chin. Snapping his jaw shut and concussing Nguyen's brain even before he hit the mat. From there the count was merely a formality as Sam raised a fist in victory before the ref could even get in and check up on Nguyen's fallen form.

Sam couldn't help but smile; "You're a good fighter 'Shotgun,' but your power is a little 'shotty."
