Hey, how's it going everyone?It's been a while since I uploaded any SF art... so I thought it's time I need to.
Here's another drawing of my series of Ryu x Chun Li art... and I have to say that I really love how this piece came out.
Ryu is off to find Akuma and Chun doesn't want him to go, fearing he may not come back alive.
I was listening to this when I started drawing it... let's say it put me in the mood to draw the setting. Yes, I'm a big Naruto fan.

Very good job man; it's touching (tho being the main char I doubt Ryu would truly ever die) and seems real. Plus I like Chun's rear end in this shot

I love good humor in a picture, and it's probably 'cuz of my liking for American cartoons to blame for that x3. But it can be understated too and still work really well.
I'd do anything to wish Chun were real; I think everyone would (then it'd be a mad dash w/ bunches of men beating each other up to reach her lol).

Holy Shizzle, the artwork screams beauty and this time I really mean it.
I believe the best way to know that an artwork is that good is if the person watching the art suddenly starts to feel the same emotions as those found in the artwork and I guess I can say that this artwork is nailed it.
Though I need some tissues and a teddy to make me feel better. lol

And I'm glad you like the art! And Alvin Lee huh? It's not the first time I've heard this, but thank you! Alvin Lee is one of my favorite artists out there (well, the entire UDON crew is amazing!), and I hope to be on par with him some day.

Thanks and good luck to you too. ^_^ As for not having a Scanner or Tablet, maybe you can take some of your pencils/portfolio with you at cons? there maybe a Kinko's copying store you can go to to scan images...
I live on the east coast, so I don't have enough money to go on a trip to Comic Con (but I would LOVE too!). I mostly go to Dragon Con in Atlanta, GA or Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC. I would love to meet Alvin and Omar... Omar's art is freaking amazing.
I've been in/around the art/comic field almost all my life, thanks to my older brother (he and a group of friends has published 6 of their own created comic books). One of the main things a penciler for comics must be able to do is draw VERY VERY FAST! I can draw at lighting speed, but I'm weak at drawing backgrounds (or rather, too lazy to). Many other factors come in like storytelling skills, dynamic panels, use of shadows and light, knowledge about colors and inks, etc. There are many things to know....
As for art styles, one of the things I think that why my art is so similar to Alvin's, is because we were both Highly influenced by Joe Madureira. I use to have a style closer to the likes of Marc Silvestri or Jim Lee for the longest time... but I wanted to go with a more manga/anime like style, so I studied Joe's style, trying to incorporate it into my own.
and yes, The more unique the style is, the better your chances are of getting picked up. The industry is looking for something that they have not seen before, whether if it's art style or creativity. They want something new.
Having a portfolio ready is also something good and handy to have. Also, if you can, get yourself some BlueLine Pro comic paper, and draw out, say, about 6 pages of a simple story of any character(s) that you want. A lot of artist wants to see how you draw panels and art in comic form.

I'm not a chun li fan, but I can respect when chun li fans make great art! and this is deffinately one of them!
the structure is good, you have strong emotion and the sun light reflects the time of day clearly here. it is a very nice pic, so I have faved. I like a lot actually.
for me, my fave ryu pairing from street fighter is with Juri. (I just like the abuse that would occur in that relationship.)

One issue I see with any Ryu pairing. Ryu is a wanderer. He will never have any interest in compassion nor attachments with others.
Dating a wanderer sounds romantic at first, but deals with alot of heart ache in the end. That's just how I see it. No offense if anyone is.

I'm not trying to be offensive. And I'm used too running into many Chun-li pairings (most odd is vega x Chun).
But I'm just referring to Ryu's sense of character. I won't go far into it. But mainly, I just think Ryu isn't much into creating bonds with others as much as his friend Ken is.

In SF Canon, Ryu is emotionally constipated, seeing that he was raised in isolation, knowing nothing but the fight. Ryu is caring and gentle but like you said, doesn't stick around to create bonds.
I was spoiled on the Chinese ManHuas when I was younger...

If I'm correct, I think Ryu was raised by Japanese monks am I right? (I know only little of Ryu;s past).
As Gouken appeared a bit like a monk, I would assume Ryu takes after Gouken.
Also, I'm not familiar with what you said. What's a ManHuas?

As far as I know, Ryu was raised by Gouken...
ManHuas are Chinese mangas/comics... in everyone one of the SF ManHuas, Ryu and Chun are together as a couple (they even get married). The stories here are not canon, and capcom told the writers to label them as Gaidens/sidestories when they were published (and the stories in the first set of ManHuas were down right WEIRD). There are also a few handfull of Japanese Mangas that hinted at a Ryu x Chun relationship.
In actual Canon, Ryu and Chun are good close friends, but that's it... at least for now. ^_^

I think that's how most other cannons are done when trying to make it a animated or manga series. But too tell the truth, I never seen Ryu play any role in chun-Li's story plots in any of the games.
As well as I notice more hints on a Sakura x Ryu pairing over a Chun-li x Ryu (personally, I never seen the two ever interact with one another, it's usually rose or Sakura that I see closest to him).
This is just my opinion however. I think the fan pairing was just made do to the fact Ryu is the main character, and the fact Chun-li was the first female character in the series.
However, this may work for Disney, I highly doubt it would work out in this case. Personally, I would think Chunners would look for a guy kinda like Charlie, more of a realist over a wanderer.
But once again, just how I see it.

I actually didn't clik it,i dont care that much for Naruto anymore lolz.
Well, i WILL see him again this week, on saturday, so, i wont have to wait too long to see him. But what i mean is, i got to spend this last week with him, on vacation, without having to worry about schedules, lunch hours, people coming by the house, work, sleep hours, i didnt have a care in the world... I sure needed a week vacation like this, just for the 2 of us. This was the first time i had a decent vacation in 6 years! It felt MARVELOUS! X3
