Description
EDIT: Added punctuation, along with the Gothic, Phoenician, Comstock and Tic-Tac-Toe code alphabets. And a sexagesimal (base-60) number system. Yay.I've always wondered what the smallest field was that could hold the letters of a large number of writing systems. As it turns out, at least so far, it's 7 pixels by 7 pixels (not counting diacritics, which extend beyond that). So, after countless hours of painstaking pixel-by-pixel calligraphy, this massive... thing... is ready to show off.
Currently, it holds:
-A set of various punctuation marks, including some weirder ones like the irony mark.
-The Canadian Aboriginal Syllabary, which I just found out is used for Cree, Ojibwe and Inuktitut. I have to thank for me wanting to put this one in.
-The Cyrillic alphabet, optimized for Russian. Note that the Russian equivalent of the letter D goes outside of the 7x7 boundary due to its odd design. This gave me a huge hassle until I altered the template's actual shape to its current one. Also present are some of the older letters that were phased out several hundred year ago.
-Futhorc, the Anglo-Frisian system of runic writing. Runes are a hassle because there exist so many systems of runes that it was difficult to find a rigidly-ordered, well-known set. But I found one, AND I managed to fit them into the 7x7.
-The Gothic alphabet, a very strange one if I do say so.
-The Greek alphabet, optimized for Modern Greek. Five of the older letters, along with the Coptic letters, are there too.
-Katakana for Japanese. Katakana is easier to implement than hiragana or kanji, and while it was difficult, I finally got it. If anybody notices one not looking right, please tell me.
-The Latin alphabet, optimized for English, along with ampersand, ash, ethel, the Claudian letters and other characters for extended Latin. Even eszett. Yay, German!
-The Phoenician alphabet, one of the oldest in existence.
-Alternate systems for writing in English, including Braille, the Comstock system, Dscript, Interbet, the Moon system, flag semaphore, Simlish, the Tic-Tac-Toe cipher, Unifon and a weird one came up with years ago.
-Symbols for astrological bodies and zodiac signs.
-Eight gender symbols that I found on the internet. The same person also made a language called Rayalaka, which will be added eventually.
-Solresol, the language based on musical tones. Comes in two of the posited forms: Shapes and heights.
-The Visual Alphabet. Not associated with an actual language. The last symbol, cloud, was kind of a chore.
-Numbering systems, including Asian-style dice, dominos, dozenal (in three different styles), the Fluorite Octet from Homestuck, Mayan, Miwin's dice, Roman numbers and sexagesimal.
-Vorci, Hato, Ieieshe and N'nuk'ka, four of the alien languages in Life Unlimited.
-Life Unlimited, translated into Russian and Chinese. (The symbol for "life" is the second one. It means "life force", but the vertical stroke near the top was added for a slight pun, because the character for "life" has that stroke, while the very similar top part of the character for "life force" does not.)
-Two symbols that I have no use for yet.
As it says, feel free to test the system for yourself. There's a reason why it's public. Enjoy.

Heh. Seven months later I get this message.
Anyway, I haven't even bothered to look at this account in a while, much less the writing system, which is from back when I was in high school. But if I ever decide to go back to it, I may give Hangul a shot, since the way it's composed would be much easier than, say, Chinese.

I like it.
Except I now have the Inuktitut alphabet song stuck in my head and it's hard to pronounce some of the letters.
Now excuse me while I marvel at how pretty the various writing systems are.

They're always easiest to appreciate when you look at them from the viewpoint of a linguist, or as if you're trying to change them. And now... *goes to look at the Inuktitut alphabet song*

It's too bad there's only one set I understand completely.
Language is fascinating But I'll stick with the Latin alphabet.

Rather than making up your own like I'm doing. But yeah. It's not for everybody and it can get really confusing at times.
