Description
Poster #2 in a series of typographic designs showing quotes that help me out or I feel are important.---
where there is a will, there is a way
This motivational quote is short and sweet and can be related to many situations throughout my, or probably anyone else's day. There are times when work or something will bum me out and I feel like I have no will to go on, but I know inside of me there is a way I can push and strive to do what I need to.
All was created in PhotoShop.
Stock texture is from ~bashcorpo . Thank you for all those great grungy textures!
Please comment and critique and let me know what you think. Feel free to say what you need. I greatly appreciate it!

I've actually been thinking about a different shade for the red, or even the background as well now that I look at it almost everyday. I may do a little adjusting at some point.
Thanks for commenting.

oh no. I definitely wouldn't go to that extreme. I enjoy the color scheme I've used, and so do many others. I just want to change the saturation of some colors. I feel that is all that would be needed.

Do you happen to live somewhere in the New York area? Because you would have probably seen the original piece by my favorite design firm. Very old.
What worse is that it is EXACTLY the same. not one difference. lol But if it's coincidence then I can understand, it's a pretty common concept.

MrBadger In reply to JGT [2008-04-13 16:33:13 +0000 UTC]
I have never been to New York haha. I live in Virginia and there was absolutely no influence on this piece except whatever my mind was thinking at that time.
That is weird though, but I guess you are right, the concept is something that is quite common. I mean, some layouts had to have been done twice at some point in time im assuming ha.
If you could send a picture or something of that design that would be neat. I would love to see it.

this is visually appealing as a layout, but the hierarchy of the type is very confusing because you must jump around to read it properly.

It's definetely a FAV+, in fact, I have saved it here and am currently using it on my desktop.. (always changing the displayed images)..for this is so..... true.
Thank you for sharing your work, this is a cool, neat piece.
We need to hear these things, spread the word/thoughts...

That truly means a lot to me.
I really love hearing what others have to say about my work and if it makes an impact, whether that be inspiration, or making a difference in your case. It's really the ultimate constructive criticism for me, to know that my piece can be appreciated that much. That makes it a success in my book. So thank you for letting me know how much of a success my work really is.
I'm glad to know that you can enjoy this image while it is on your desktop and I hope that quote maintains true for you ,whether it be in design or your daily life, it can really be a "motivation" to anyone.

That's the thing, it is true for me... it has ALL/ways been! ...
Actually I take it to the very 'boundaries'...'limits'... & beyond!
But... the ones I loved the most in life, have died..betrayed me & themselves... for they wouldn't feel the truth contained in these simple words.
- that is why I got all emotional with your graphic work + universal truth.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
MrBadger In reply to E-volve-E [2007-12-18 04:32:13 +0000 UTC]
and you have every right to get emotional, especially for reasoning such as that!
Even if that weren't the case, there's still no one stopping you from acting out on your feelings. I loved making this piece and a few others such as this as well, just because of the words and emotions that could be involved in them, not from just myself, but everyone around me as well.
That is all I need to feel to know I've accomplished something, and that is bringing out the inner person within an individual and being able to have them placed inside my work or surrounded by the feelings emitted from it.
Such as you said, universal truth, that is what I wrote here, and that is what it was meant to be, plain and simple. Words to live by and survive by if necessary.
Now, I wish that what I've just said could have been relayed to a professor in my class in order to describe my project here haha! But thats done and over with, and I'm very glad I could discuss the inner meaning of things with someone. I would gladly do this again sometime if the opportunity arises. Thank you for reading my english paper here haha( I know it must have been painstaking ) and once again I'm glad to know that your emotions were touched by this piece.
Feel free to comment my work like this anytime It will always be appreciated.

I can't bealieve how nice/cool you seem to be. ( i CAN believe, it's just rare)
I've added you to my MSN list, hoping you'd accept me, someone (apparently) so insightful & open, 'ermeable' to emotions/feelings/someone lost out there in some South American country (hehe) is not to be "lost" of sight.
I enjoyed reading your paper lol, people have been reading so little these days... also not writing enough (pertinent things)...
What IS relevant these days... have almost completely been forgotten by most... and that not only saddens me, but has destroyd more than you'll ever know. Know it.

Unfortunately, I do not have MSN messenger, I do have a hotmail email account, but that is the farthest I have gotten to at this point. I believe my email is in my profile, so if at anytime you feel compelled to, drop me a line, and I would be more than happy to answer back (given that my fingers are not accupied elsewhere such as with food or leaving comments on here haha).
It is true what you speak of, relevance is a forgotten thing nowadays. No one bothers to relate any little thing that they see to their lives, such as the words contained in my work, or not even that, it could have been something said on tv, but people let little opportune moments pass them by so quickly and as you said, has destroyed more than anyone will ever know.
People do need some insight every now and then, no matter who you are. I know I haven't lived life to its fullest by any means yet, but a little motivation or someone helping me to keep my chin up every now and then is most appreciated and welcome at any time.
Well I can't quite get as involved in my thought process as last night; my young brothers are calling me for their food and there is something I NEED to relate myself to immediatley before all hell breaks loose haha.
I'm happy to know of how cool and nice I am, and same goes to you of course, and it is agreed, much of a rarity.

I made this and 2 other posters so far as a series of typographic works that contain quotes that I feel are important to me, help me out, or are inspirational. Incorporating the quotes with design was also interesting to try and I feel I had a successful experiment by attempting this as well.
