Description
The troops of the Don Front at 4pm on the 2nd February 1943 completed the rout and destruction of the encircled group of enemy forces in Stalingrad. Peace was around the corner. You can shed tears that I'm gone,
or you can smile because I have lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that I'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all that I've left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see me,
or you can be full of the love we shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember me only that I am gone,
or you can cherish my memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what He'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

"Thank you" is such an over rated phrase. It's used all to often. I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder. I will try my absolute best to supercede my expectations and place my thoughts, emotions and memories into images that tell a story all there own.
Thank you my friend.

Hah...modern-day sign post with a confederate soldier. :] Least, that's what it looks like.
Nice lighting, though - it's good you didn't let the harsher light overwhelm your face.

This is period 1940's era Soviet Union Soldier. The coat, Rifle and boots should tell. Not German though. There were speed signs back then.

Aah, gotcha. It was a bit harder for me to tell (my brother's the war expert). Thanks for the insight, though~
