New repost. Behold the classics, the undying heroes of my childhood, the outcasts, the monsters, the embodiement of the darkest part of humanity. Might be exagerated but here they are. The Universal Monsters. Such marvels of the horror/fantastic genre. I cannot state how much they were all part of my love for the horror genre and monsters. Timeless imperfections celebrated world wide. Words are a bit lacking here. But these are the real treasures of the horror genre, they have laid the foundations of it. It such a disappointment though how they were treated as the genre evolved and thus lead to the death of the Dark Universe. Not that a cinematic universe shared by the classic monsters wouldn't have been cool but it is something that is earned and not meant to be thrown on the silver screen for money. There was so much potential with the improvement made by the horror genre through the years yet wasted. I hope someday the monsters will have their moment to shine for they are such an important and powerful way to reflect on the broken nature of human beings. I plan on doing a serie of drawings, maybe portraits, I don't know yet.. focused on these. 😊 Until then, enjoy this little drawing.
