"It happened during the Fall of 1895. The harshest time of our lives, the darkest probably. The loss of our little angel, the unfathomable grief. My paintings were not selling anymore, I had not more interest for the erotic artworks, nor for the portraits of the higher society. Everything that screamed beauty became ugly. My wife kept on working at the hospital, she became more and more discrete. And the inevitable gap grew between us. We were almost estranged. Home felt like a raging ruin of who we were, of what we had. My art grew darker, strange and macabre. There was an escape in the unlikable, the horrific.. And one day, he arrived. A pale man, dead eyes and the physical aspect of a corpse. My new subject."

This drawing was done on a sticky notes also! I wanted to do a drawing in which The Shape of Guilt was a character from another story involving paintings and the artist slowly spiraling into madness and even worse after deciding to take an interest for an abnormal man. It's a little something that I found interesting to explore.
