KUP: RESPECT YOUR ELDERBOTS! I loved Kup; I am a huge proponent of crotchety back-in-my-days-will-you-kids-get-offa-my-lawn geriatric robots. And I’m super happy that Animated Ratchet has decided to carry on the torch that burns off of Metamucil. One of Kup’s prominent mannerisms was that every scenario reminded him of something else, which usually jumpstarted one of his veteran flashbacks.
“Hey Kup, tell us about Sun Base 17.”
“What do you think, it was damn hot! But so were the women. Mmm hmm…”

VOLTRON: Oh, fanfiction. I think I have a few art buddies that deal in that area. Well god bless ya, I’m sure even you specialized fans’ve stumbled upon stories that are absolutely bazonkers. Heck, even with some crossover fanart, I’ve seen the results and said “Yeah…I totally see the logical jump to produce a drawing of Wheeljack getting a shoulder rub by a Skeksis from Dark Crystal.”
Voltron was another staple robot from the 80s. Firstly, he had lion fists. PEOPLE HIS HANDS COULD ROAR. Even Optimus Prime has trouble topping that. But I think what made the show endearing was that epic theme song. Every kid knew when they heard Dah nuh nuh nuh, DAH NUH NUHHHH! they were watching a great space drama. If you listen to the original Japanese opening, with its chirping children chorus, it totally beguiles the pretty grim mood the show could carry.
IRONHIDE: That Ironhide, he’s an autobuser. Hopefully you can tell he’s in lockup with his orange jumpsuit. Don’t believe me? Watch “Se[a]rch For Alpha Trion” on YouTube and see how he tries to manipulate the Fembot:

Fun fact: I totally didn’t make the connection that Peter Cullen did the voice for both Optimus Prime and Ironhide, despite them usually talking in tandem. Also! Peter Cullen is notable for being the voice for the frumpity Eeyore. You can totally hear Prime’s voice if you watch Winnie The Pooh episodes, which can add volumes of adorableness if you imagine Eeyore speaking Prime’s lines in the live action movie. “I’m going to stop Megatron, I suppose...or else he’ll blowup the universe. Not that it matters.”
…Should I…really draw up Eeyoreptimus Prime?

Wasn't the plot of Voltron that Lotor wanted to enslave the "inferior" and ugly humans? Just like with Robotech, I love that 80s cartoon plots consisted of human-looking-with-a-different-skin-tone alien races talking about how stupid and totally not the same human beings were.

I've seen (well, read) worse crossover ideas than TF/Voltron. "Cars" was one of the dumber ideas. "Rocky Horror" (I'm not making it up) made my brain explode a little. And "Knight Rider"... wasn't actually that bad... I think I may have seen a "YuGiOh" or "Pokemon" (Can't remember which one...) crossover, but I was much too scared to click it... >_<
I'm excited that you're doing Rumble! Cos he's so easy to make a dirty pun with. (Actually, even his catch phrase was pretty dirty, if listened to with a dirty mind. Heh... )

Is it bad that I'd like to hear about Kup's adventures? Well, leave out the hookerbot since I don't really want to know the robot facts of life, but seriously, take down his stories, divide it into about a thousand rather thick tomes and sell them, I'd have a set. And reference it in term papers.
And I know ya hit me cause you're just too strong for your own good Ironhide, I only got that restraining order cause I know it'd kill ya if you killed me!
And you're doing Grimlock, oh yay, me and some friends were just joking about Grimlock attempting to be romantic, which somehow discussed him being a Prime in some other universe (which supposedly happened) and wondered how a dinosaur turns into a semi, but we realized that he would just become Godzilla and the his tail could open and act like a trailer. I love lunch conversations. Its better than saying transformer names in a thick southern belle accent at dinner and having the food service lady asking if you're drunk.

You're correct that Grimlock was very "primal" in a comic series, but he was uber smart, and kinda killed all the wonderfully retarded hijinks one would hope for if Grimlock tried to be in charge.

Actually, I can totally see Grimlock being a genius, like that dude in the wheelchair (I think his name is Hawkins), wheelchair dude has a funky voice as well. Maybe he could try using sign langauge or something, then he can totally sign that he punctuates all his words like that cause he's just started learning.
And Grimlock wouldn't kill the femmes, I mean he probably is a lady killer back home, but not in that way. (Because everyone loves dinosaurs, even robots.)

Just because I have downtime, and you’re foolish enough to state your interest in it, I present to you Kup’s Kodger Kronicles: Sun Base 17!
Okay, okay, settle down Grimlock and I’ll tell ya a story. Got it. Out all the way in the Trannix Galaxy, Ultra Magnus and I received an S.O.S. from the research center on Sun Base 17. I tell ya, the Trannix sun is a sun all its own category—green debris mysteriously and constantly detached from the planet’s surface that the base was on and floated peculiarly into the sun, And the resulting sizzling pigments caused gorgeous waves of emerald and maroon to shimmy and shimmer all over its surface like the fur of a pack of illuminator walruses.
It was on Sun Base 17 that we met this Annoy-bot named Perceptor. I tell ya, I’ve heard many an alien dialogue, but Perceptor confused my memory processor to the point of burnout. Thank Vector Sigma that Ultra Magnus could dumb the youngin down long enough to decipher the situation.
Now, Perceptor’s been studying what causes the green sludge to hone itself towards the sun with an instinctual yearning. It never seemed to effect the planet’s surface, but recently they were coming off in droves; the whole landscape resembled titanium swiss cheese! Perceptor found himself trapped inside the base with such unstable terrain. And if this educated analysis would have TOLD us of this plight in his S.O.S., we wouldn’t have lost the blasted rescue ship when it fell into the abyss.
Grimlock settle down! If we died I wouldn’t be telling you this story, now would I? With so much of the planet’s surface migrating to the sun, we could see deep down into the crags as to the horrible origin of this “ planet”. It was actually a giant egg of sorts; I hope I never function long enough to find out the creature capable of laying such a thing. The monster’s many eyes kept blinking and focusing towards the sun, and Perceptor had us consider the wonderful possibility that the behemoth was slowly pushing what was left of the placenta towards and into the sun!
Grimlock you want me to finish the story? Good, then sit. All hope seemed lost, but finally the scope-mounted motor-mouth said something useful for once. Ultra Magnus translated Perceptor’s gibberish that the base’s analytical processing reactors concentrated feroucous amounts of pressure to successfully break down the molecules of the tough green shell shards. If we could make a concentrated exit for all that pressure, we could literally ride the reactor and easily escape its gravitational pull! And with its near limitless supply of atomic energy, we could rocket to the nearest outpost without fear of being stranded.
We managed to distance ourselves relatively safely before the real spectacle climaxed in front of us. I tell ya, I wouldn’t believe the scenario unless I saw it with my own optic sensors. The egg planet finally hatched, and the beast inside made a blitz right towards the sun! In an instant the being was engulfed, and the sun became a thousand shades more brilliant. We had the time, so we listened as Perceptor theorized that the sole purpose of the egg was to be hatched by the sun, and the entity within would sacrifice itself to its incubator as a fuel source, ensuring the sun would be around to reproduce this strange circle of life and death again once mommy showed back up to repeat the process.
You see some weird stuff in space. With the abrupt foreclosure of Perceptor’s outpost, Ultra Magnus gave the bot a job aiding the Autobots in finding better sources of energy.

God bless the old codgers and their undying hope that maybe one day they really will find someone who wanted to know what things were like "back in their day." I don't know about you, but I'm glad I didn't have to walk five miles uphill both ways in the snow to see this deviation. But I would have done it anyway, because these things are hysterical.
