We miss our dear Peyton very much still, but since she is no longer with us, we thought we could give a new animal in need of a home a place to live. This is Duke, who we adopted last night. He is an Australian Shepard/ Lab mix with one brown eye and one blue eye. It's been quite a while since we've had a "puppy" in the house.Related content

He is fitting in quite well for the most part. Everyone tolerates him except our one cat who doesn't care very much for him. What is interesting is our oldest dog who usually is a bit snippy is very loving and tolerant to his chewing on her and trying to get her to play, while our other girl that is usually the one that mothers over everyone doesn't seem to be nearly as pleased of his antics as she is with others.

Oh yes,it is really interesting to see how differently dogs can react,they have reasons we don't know,but we might learn something new every time
My old lady,is so jealous she wouldn't stand other dogs,and she is so protective she tryes to protect me all the time,even if i encounter a mouse on the floor

Tonight I caught him out in the garden eating my asparagus. I saved a couple of them, but they have teeth marks in them now!

They are fun to watch. We have a landscape timber in our yard leaning up against the fence that the cats all like to run up. Tonight he was in front of it blocking them, so the one cat just runs up and jumps clean over him to get to it...good times indeed
