Creative,true. But I don't quite like the color scheme. And once I have stared at it longer than 10 seconds, I started to feel it's not that cool as I felt at the first glance.
I use don't use winamp so I admit I'm a little biased...

There was an ascii skin when I used to use WinAmp about 5 years ago...........
I think it woiuld work better in just black & white, like an actual DOS prompt.

I wish it would! Google my nickname with 'mrd00d winamp' and read some of the posts I traded with the admin of the winamp message boards before the pansies banned me! Hahahah! I hate administrators with no backbone. What a joke...Winamp used to be such a cool program when Justin Frankel first made it. It's sad to see something that had so many people devoting time and efforts developing it and skinning for it go to pot. Oh well...corporate dogma and the power of the almighty dollar wins I suppose.

It would take me all but a few minutes to make a black and white version..I could greyscale all images and upload it. Let me know if you still want it. I got several requests for a greyscale version from programmers who wanted to listen to music while coding and hide the music player using my ASCII Amp skin so it would look like text and not draw attention to itself. hahaha!

Heh, ~Jerm123321 made an ASCII Winamp skin for my second ASCII art contest about 1.5 years ago and I've been using it since. It wasn't colorful like this, but IMO this one is using too many colors, fewer would probably produce a more stylish result.

Do you have a link to his ASCII skin? I think my skin was the first ever 'ASCII' skin to be made for winamp, but Winamp is run by a bunch of TWITS who probably all use AOL...so you can
t even find it there. ASCII Amp has been around for ages. I made it immediately after someone ticked me off in a job interview by laughing that I told her I ran some rooms on a BBS and was admin on a board with some friends from the Netherlands. Within a few days afterward my skin was published to CD-Rom in a Japanese MP3 Magazine and had top downloads on many of the skinning sites. I made it to promote the BBS I was on and to prove that 'old skool is still cool'.
