Description
Here's a portrait I did of the Fenrir from the 90s Disney Hercules series episode "Twilight of the Gods". This wolf was the inspiration for Chris and my other dire wolf OCs, and, while he isn't the only interpretation of Fenrir in media, this one is my favorite because he was the first exposure I had of the character, he had a lot of influence on my character design, and I just think his design is really cool.

This Fenrir has purple fur, red eyes, brown ear lobes, a very pointy nose, six exposed jagged teeth on the front of his muzzle, and a cute little pointy goatee on his chin. He has the ability to breathe freezing ice breath, can swallow large objects like the sun, and can survive being inflated. Like in Norse mythology, he is friends with Loki, the God of Mischief, and serves to bring on Ragnarok, the end times, by swallowing the sun and helping Loki destroy Asgard. In the Disney version however, it is implied that he is simply Loki's pet and not his son like in myths. Also in the Disney version, Loki summons frost giants (who look like giant versions of that big snow monster in Frozen in this episode) instead of his two other children, Hela (Goddess of Death) and Jormungandr (World Serpent). Yeah, the silly willy Disney TV show version isn't as accurate as the myths.

Fenrir (this version particulary) is copyright of Disney. Though I doubt anyone remembers him. I don't know why I love this obscure and forgettable minor character from an obscure Disney cartoon from the 90s that only appeared in one episode, but I just do!
