i was self taught until university, and even they don't really teach you how to draw.
not sure how to answer the ideas question. Years of watching TV, movies and reading comics and books.

Im envisioning an epic plight between gelatinous birdmen and grumps waging ages for planetary dominance; however the superior frontal lobes the GBM posses will always rein supreme....regardless of the grumps' hearty spine!
