Description
left to right, top to bottom starting from the top of their heads; gremlin, mogwai, yoda (species), furby morph, furby morph, og furby, and furby boom.the prehistoric ancestor of both furbies and mogwai are shelbies, but the two species quickly branched off from each other, and while superficially similar are no longer genetically compatible. whereas the mogwai developed a set of arms to aid in agility, and climbing, furbies remained on the ground and gained a hard facial crest. mogwai when exposed to certain circumstances ie food after midnight will turn into gremlins, shedding their fur in favor of scaley skin, and become much more aggressive. this likely came about as an evolutionary tactic, much like a butterfly's metamorphosis helps them to spread their young, a gremlin is more well equipped to fend off predators. it seems that through the millenia neither mogwai, nor gremlins persisted, instead leaving a species that appears to be a cross between the two, they appear more reasoned, less driven by instinct and capable of a human level of sentience. however their aggressive urges appear to persist in that the few recorded "yodas" are war criminals. moving onto the ground dwelling furby, they went through many iterations, adapting to be more emotive and gain even brighter colors, perhaps to ward off predators or blend into their surroundings. furby morphs or designer furbies are surgically manipulated furbies, often of the original variety, which take on a wide range of forms from the iconic long furby to the more exotic sphynx furby.

No, that's the canon of the movie, the mowgai were created by an alien scientist to spread peace.

Okay, also please don't call me "babe". Here's a fun fact, "mogwai" is Chinese for "monster" and is a demon in Chinese folklore. In the lore, their mating season is triggered by rainfall, which explains why they multiply when wet in the movie.

No, I meant the Mogwai of Chinese folklore, not the ones in the movie!
