I say indeed and more it cheers
The joyous shouting ringing through
Between my ears even as I sleep

You are out amongst the stars
Burning more brightly than all ahead
Shorter, yes, but swiftly scores
A heroes journey through the void

I wait amongst the drab and gray
While thick air chokes out life
In long shadows, here I stay
Drifting, slowly wasted chaff

Stake a claim we both once sought
And wished upon those shooting stars
Don't let our dreams be for naught
Our hopes to grow cold as space

Would that I could be with you
Ridden through the ocean black
To red rust shores you came to
A pilgrim on our brave new world

Fear not, my aching heart goes on
Dreams of starlight, clear of smog
Who will miss me when I've gone?
I hope you and the rustdevil winds
