My (updated) rendition of Rainbow Quartz 2.0, I’ve actually been wanting to share them for a very long time! The pose is based on one of my instagram pics , and the parasol is based on Japanese parasols and peppermint candy!
They’re smart, bossy, sassy and very emotional. They take missions very seriously but can’t help being a little melodramatic.
They’re based a lot on super princess peach, both with a parasol weapon and also I thought it would be cool if they used their emotions as a weapon, since Pearl and Steven seem to be the most emotional of the crystal gems. All I can think of is a storm of tears which drown out whoever doesn't have an umbrella

I've always felt that if there was a Rainbow Quartz 2.0 that the palette would change slightly considering Steven of course doesn't have pink skin or hair, but in that case I suppose it wouldn't really be a rainbow quartz lol

There's a lack of Pearl's clothes. Could you maybe try and work in Pearl's leotard to fit with Rainbow?

Yeah, I tried that and it didn't really work. Instead I decided to use 2 pieces of Stevens clothes; shirt and jeans, and 2 pieces of pearls clothes; socks and waist-ribbon thing, which has just been moved up to the head for the headband, to keep it even.

I layered pearl's blue leotard underneath steven's shirt similar to how steven's clothes are layered on top of amethyst's with smoky quartz. It looked kind of weird because they would sort of have to wear the whole dress underneath which might've obscured steven's gem. Also Rainbow is based on looks from the 80s so I wanted them to have that goofy off-the-shoulder, loose shirt neckline, similar to this sort of look . The tight leotard underneath would've been great for an 80s vibe, but I think it was just the neckline which would've thrown the outfit off.
I completely see what you're saying though, hopefully this makes sense!

I see where you're coming from, yeah, though I can't help but still feel that them only having Steven's t-shirt will make them considered and/or regarded as indecent.
Still, love the overall design.
