looks like a sweet basis for a multi-purpose mecha... maybe frontline infantry, with swappable equipment. You know, this is the base unit, and the variations have different sets of equipment for whatever role they play.
I'm going so much into detail because this looks really cool. Check out the US Army's Stryker vehicle if you want to see a decent example of what I'm talking about.
