It's not something I've ever really decided to give too much thought to.  I'm less focused on the nuts and bolts and more about making a fun series of strips that have some sort of interesting twist or "gag" to them.  Because when you start trying to come up with a "legitimate" explanation, you can tend to confuse things and focus less on the imagery and more on the minor details, which vignettes like this don't really focus on.

However, the explanation I have thought about is that it's essentially like when you have a conversation in your head.  But instead of bouncing the thoughts back and forth, they are verbalized in several different bodies. 

Another explanation is that there is no way to properly explain it, as there is no way to provide an equivalent experience without firsthand knowledge.

I think I'm happy with the explanation being somewhere in the middle.  It's LIKE having a conversation in your head, but it's the only way it can be described since the experience is so foreign there is no proper way to explain it to another person.

Well, that makes sense. I like the series and I would love if Demonica turned into inanimate stuff more often

I like those series too as they are a nice break from the norm.  However, I usually try to have some reason or theme to engage in them, and I've got nothing planned at the moment.
