I've been reading the rest of the Wizard of Oz series. I am on like... book 6 out of 13 or so...Anyway, here's a drawing of Ozma, the queen of Oz. I did this one in Prismacolor Colored Pencils.

I know she has black hair in the books... just like the slippers are actually silver. Except in the movie, Return to Oz, Ozma is blonde in that movie.

Wow, Ozma as a blonde and with different style. Pretty. Nice hairstyle choice. I am a huge fan of the movies but I forgot that Ozma was even in the second movie or had blonde hair! Most art of her = brunette (brown) haired beauty ....just now I watched a clip from Return To Oz and sure enough Ozma was not only in the movie but she's blonde in it.

I read the book before I saw Fleming's movie; as a result, I was aware of the fact that the plot was reduced to the barest bones, something that made me very unhappy.

I, luckily, saw the movie first and enjoyed it. I think if I had read the books first, I would have not enjoyed it as much.

I love the Oz books!! They are my favorite series.
But ya got a long way to go, there are 40 in the official series and about a million unofficial ones.
Still, the 14 by Baum are certainly the best.

My favorite character is and will always be Scraps (AKA the Patchwork Girl). But I also like her blue, cubical cat (I forget his name).
