Description Well, definitely not my best work... (Its what I get for trying to do human-ish faces expressed in a cartoonish fashion -//-') But yeah, after reading 's fanfiction "Waning Daylight" which basically depicts SP4449's life up until a certain point (And yes, some of you may call me a hypocrite for liking the fact a MURICAN engine is on UK rails, smashing the loading gauge and all that. I still stand by my views on that and is probably one of my nit pics) But regardless to the sodor nonsense it DOES take a rather interesting look into a locomotive's life from the day she comes to be, going through all trials and triviations that life has to throw at an engine, but where as most people know where 4449's life went in terms of preservation. This takes a different take and questions whether or not "being saved" was really worth it or not. This is also known as working on the Island Kollsvik, which is from what I can tell, is a steam loco hell. Engines painted completely black, anything pretty and for show is taken off and thrown in the scrap skip and you get the idea. But one of the main characters and from what I can take away most engines on the Island consist of european locos.

So basically what we've got here is Kollsvik getting 3 new tank engines and each sketch shows how each one would've settled in.

Joe the J88 - Would've been scared shitless from the second he saw Adolf and his Hanz Zimmer stare (Some people will get what I'm talking about there .c.) and most likely would've disapeared into the BG with a lot of shunters.

Tinkerbell the little Danish F - She would most likely keep her funnel down and just set to work, most crews and engines doubting that she'd pull the skin off a yogurt and as a result would've been left to the back of the shed until desperate times. What most people don't know is her ability to shift nearly over 1000 tons, which would give most engines a surprise to see such a long train moved by such a small engine .c.

1178 the Swedish S - Now trying to figure out how 1178 would settle in was a bit of a tricky one, as I've taken how he performed valiantly in the 1980s for NVR into what his charactar was. Resilient, experienced, old and wise, having seen a lot of the world change first hand as a commuter locomotive. Seeing how much 1178 could keep going no matter what condition he was in would mean he'd be a versatile machine that simply got on with what was asked of him, but keeping friendly whenever he could... With a few difficulties...

But these are only my late night half arsed drawings and ideas that you could read AFTER looking at the sketches

(And yes, the one of Joe asking is that the best we've got, yes. Thats me slapping myself at how rubbish at teeny drawings I'm getting <_>;;; )

Anyways if you haven't read this fanfic yet, you should, its a good read bishoujoshadow.deviantart.com/… and the author herself is a rather artist as well C:

Ah well thats all from me folks

ohhh... now i see the freight cars.... derp 9w6

1000 times 2000.....

two MILLION pounds!!!!! .... wow, bet the US union wishes they had an engine like her at Gettysburg... she can pull 17 times the load in one go that they needed all their engines to do around the clock...

although it was 1862... Edward's grand parents....  X/

still... Dat Danish F....   *drip drip drip* crap, my boiler is leaking....

1892 actually, then Tink was built as the last batch in 1947

well I'm not super versed in the railway series' original details and more so in the American ones (although I've learned to give attention to details outside the US version story)

But I do recall that TRS' Edward was indeed build in the tail end of the 19th century (I suppose 1892 is the approx date... or is it 1896...?) and helped build the very railroad during 1915 in which the stories occur... which makes him the oldest (and earliest model?) engine in the yards... (I guess before engines like Emily arrive which is dated as a 1870 Sterling model... if that is true... how she so spunky...?)

I'm guessing your Edward is a different engine entirely? and on that note... his model line ran all the way up to Tink's model type before discontinuation in 1947...? am i hearing this right...? and - wait, these are also literal engines we are now talking about when we say "yours", correct?

(I'm sorry I'm so poorly read on your stuff... I'll read it before you answer that if you prefer...)

I appreciate your feed back, but i was just making notice of the technological progression between the events that stand out the  most in my memory... and how substantial the "pre-steam cut off" achievements were...

and that technically i guess an engine from 1863 (the real date of Gettysburg)  could be old enough to be TRS' Edward's surrogate "grand parents"... it is a difference of virtually 40 years...

heck, this line of though (see what I did there? B]   ) was started by the show's initiative to have the first officially complete steam engine introduced to Sodor ... from what? 1806...? "The Rocket"... ah, clever insert they did there with Steven...

and..... about the only model i remembered at all was the sterling like Emily.... the show made her so pretty it stuck... ....

and now Train experts silently morn my lacking tech knowledge....

X      /

But if i have any idea how.... 1860 trains appeared in America... I find it all the more compelling for a entire yards worth of those locomotives all together only able to rival the might of your cute as a button "little" Danish models...

and the boilers simmer gently....

Nah, Erika's freaking out because such a small engine is capable of moving over 1000 tons

I'm surprised by that my self, but i bet that is the thing with steam engines: they have much more potential for sheer power...

but I'm not freaked out by Tink's, strength, i actually cant help but beam over it... that's a prize winning steam engine right there...

obviously steam pressure was a smart thing to use...

iron horse is a well said nick name....

... so... how many diesels can do that...?

Do you know if there are any videos of Tinkerbell on youtube?

If there are, I've yet to find them. Tink last ran in 1987, so I seriously doubt theres much footage if any of her running.

nice picture the human-ish  faces expressions do show nicely.  As for that thing on american engine of uk/sodor rails i find it funny how people go ott on it. I  personally like the idea if US engine here in the uk some look rather nice and i know there are a few here in the uk on heritage line. with the people who go ott with this stuff one engines and guages and weight  Am just waiting for HIT to put a broad guage engine in on  standered guage they did it with a cape guage loco so i would not be surprised if it happend.  then imagine there reaction to that

MrJoj In reply to DragonMasterAndrew [2014-04-07 00:30:01 +0000 UTC]

Well really depends, if its an engine that is built to UK loading gauge like the S160, I don't have a problem with it. But its when every railroad and their big boy tries to fit on a railway network who's trains will most likely outstretch most of sodor .-.

I draw the line at American articulates in the UK. That's just silly. :3
Though I do like going into railworks and putting them on UK rails and watch them clip through every single overpass and bridge. XD

Pff XD

The "Bwarm" thing made me lol in real life. Oh I love it! I am also aware that she would indeed break every set of rails she rolled over but by the time I found that out, it was too late. But since Hank, Connor and Caitlin are there... (even though they're a few hundred thousand pounds lighter than her) <_<

Someone needs to draw that.

MrJoj In reply to WaningDaylight [2014-04-07 13:54:34 +0000 UTC]

Oh god I can picture it now.

1178 and Erika on sodor, 1178 trying to warn Erika that he only JUST fit through Henry's tunnel and that she's bigger than him.

Erika ignores him, passing it off as old age skepticism, just a shot of her coming up to Henry's tunnel.

Then it cuts to Erika in the workshops, with a massive bump on her head with a little bandaid over it. She looks to 1178 "Not. A. Word."
