Perennial would mean enduring indefinitely or self perpetuating. Hmm, since you are used to me doing my own thing, so to speak, with my comments on your images, Bry, I shall take that liberty once again. I see this image not so much as ice, but as a crystal. It is cold, smooth, jagged and invasive.

If one put such words as those into a cup, stirred, and poured them out, they might just eat, like acid, into the tabletop and form this black crystal scar. It is a scar which cannot be removed. It will look, at first, very rough. It will have sharp edges. It is deeply driven, and must receive many hours of polishing before it will begin to look like this black sparkle.

So? So, one cannot look deeply (the operative word here) at abstract art without internalizing some message, nebulous though it may seem to another; and we are all like this black ice crystal. We are perennial. We are cold, smooth, jagged and invasive. The polishing is done within and without from the day we are born, one hour and one day at a time, until we really do begin to shine on our smooth parts (talents within), our jagged edges become less sharp, we are warmed by the constant movement it takes to live life, and maybe (polishing doesn't always do this) we become less invasive to the world around us.

In the beginning, Bry, I could not understand why you titled this the way you did. As I have told you before, the artist usually has a sense about these things, and sometimes it turns out so right. Now where is that polishing cloth.
