you konw, in german theres a word "verschlimmbessert", meaning you improved and improved and improved - and in the end it just got worse...
i don't want to insult you personally, but for me the picture seems kind of faded to white. it's too bright and there are too few contrasts/ not enough saturation.
if i were you, i'd taken the picture with a bigger aperture, to calm the background, turned it to b/w, added contrast and maybe a bit brightness and that's it.
ps: maybe you could have taken a shorter focal lenghth (35-50mm) to make the focal plane smaller, too.
