At a healthy sprint Lucy exits the stadium tunnel emerging in the pits. Some winged grease monkeys striaght out of Oz direct Lucy to her vehicle. A beefed up McLean style Monowheel, for once Lucy's Buddhist demeanor drops, "Whuh! Coooool!" She recovers from her love at first sight and surveys the pits for her new opponent Quilie. As luck would have it she is sliding into a sleek japanese racer on the far end of the pits. The Trumpets blare and the race is on. Some fighters try to out race the others while the rest devolve into a hybrid of gladiator chariot racing and crash up derby.

First Quilie sends her Shadow Minion to do her dirty work, but thanks to Lucy's "causality sight" evasion is easier that saying Shotgun Shotgun. Quilie becomes frustrated and takes matters into her own hands falling right into Lucy's trap. The Shadow takes the wheel while Quilie increasingly loses her patience taking wilder and wilder swings (incidentally carving up her bullet car). Lucy taunts and draws her into more and more reckless attempts making herself appear just within her reach then swerving away.

Ahead Lucy spies the Liability 1000 Robot waving the final lap flag. Lucy knows that with the angle the sun is at, if she times it just right...

Lucy draws Quilie against the outside wall then exploits the maneuverability of her single wheeled marvel and rides up on the side wall. In an instant the flag and the monowheel form a ceiling blocking out the suns rays causing the Shade to lose it's grip on the wheel. Lucy torques a wrap shot to the back of Quilies head knocking her out and effecting the dispelling of her shady minion. Quilie takes a spill and accrues a substantial amount of road rash (as well as a trampling from the oncoming racers) while her vehicle careens into the wall taking a dynamic tumble culminating in a fiery explosion.

Having put the hammer down after connecting her legendary baton with her opponents skull, Lucy crosses the finish line winning the round as well as the race.

Directors Commentary
After the poor showing in round 1 I felt I had to redeem myself. Jebriodo sent me a hardy critique full of excellently valid points. I was determined to do right by Lucy and the opponents who had lost to me. I felt obligated to show that their sacrifice was deserving. As you can see I've used perspective and scenery which was the main failing of the previous rounds piece. I don't expect I'll have time to color this especially with my current setup. I love my computer, but it's not up to the task. I have to say this was the most fun I've had working on a piece in a while. I think Lucy got her due.
