Dinofelis is genus of Metaulirini. Dinofelis species lived in Eurasia, Africa and North America. Their canine teeth is longer as present day felidea but shorter as other Machairodontinae. Dinofelis's canine teeth were not visible, the possible Dinofelis was basal Machairodontinae. Possible its lifestyle is similar modern jaguar. It may have ranged from forest to open country, including wetlands.Dinofelis hunted varied prey. Grazing animals, were on his menu, but they were often hunted babbons and robost herbivore Australopithecus or Parantropus.
Dinofelis darti go on hunt from its forest hiding place. This male animal hunted for Parantropus bosei. But this primate is strong creature, because it use its strong muscles and long canine teeth.
