I like the idea of chapter intros, and this illustration certainly evokes the coming changes in Sasha's life. Nice composition, too - very balanced. I'm not really a manga/anime person, but I've seen enough to know that blowing petals are a hackneyed trope in the genre.. and so the petals in this image amused me, because - knowing, as I do, where the story goes - it almost seems like an inversion or parody of the trope. That was probably not intended.. but it's a fortuitous result imho.

The effect of the flower petals blowing away while those petals are a part of the girl's face create such atmosphere of a walking corpse...
