Description This is one of my other OCs, Clarissa, who I created for a story that takes place in the same world as Elijah's Song.  It was entitled The All-Nighter, and like Elijah's song was very violent and perverse, dealing with more supernatural elements.  I experimented with colored pencils for the first time, and here is the result. Y'all tell me if it works.

Clarissa Rook is MY OC, and therefore, my creation entirely.

Name: Clarissa Rook
Age: 16
Abilities: Very good at house work
Has a layman knowledge of medicine and disease
             Very observant
              Extremely courageous and determined
Likes: Strawberry-flavored things
          The band, Rainbow
           The band, The Clash
           Tom Selleck
           Louis L'amour books
           Walt Whitman

Dislikes: Bullies
              Yelling
             The smell of gasoline
             Hospitals
             Needles
Theme song: "Train in Vain" by The Clash

Clarissa was born in Smithville, Tennessee, towards the end of the Second American Civil War.  Her father was a farmer, who worked the land that had been owned by their family for several generations.  When the farm was burned down by government officials, the family tried to emigrate to the East Coast, where the Rooks had family.   On the way, they were attacked by a gang of raiders and all were killed except for Clarissa, who managed to get away.  While trying to buy food from a gas station outside of West Virginia, a man tried to molest her.  She was saved by Laura Funnello, and Clarissa went to live with her and her mother in Charleston, West Virginia, knowing that she could not make the trip the rest of the way on her own.

Living with the Funnellos, Clarissa became a live-in maid.  Mrs. Funnello had turned her house into a crowded boarding house after the death of her husband, and Clarissa was tasked with cleaning the place in return for a place to stay.  She was also tasked with looking after Laura, who received disability checks from the government due to macromastia, and running errands for Mrs. Funnello.  Both mother and daughter harass and bully her, Laura especially, using her superior size and strength to push Clarissa around for her own amusement.  Clarissa develops a friendship with Ace, a young card-playing boy of ten who is also an orphan and lives in the basement of the house, serving as perpetual maintenance on the Funnello's boiler, and with Mr. Grogan, an elderly man who is Mrs. Funnello's oldest tenant.

Despite having very little education, Clarissa is very well-read, and enjoys modern fiction and pulp magazines.  She is a big fan of westerns of all formats, and listens to punk music on her breaks.  She is very loud and outgoing, but is often mocked because of her thick "ayk-sent", which causes her to be written off as unintelligent.  She is the primary character, and investigates the mysterious of the deadly TV show, Diddly Doo the Dinosaur.

Glad to see this story starting to take shape. I have enjoyed it so far (I have obviously like the subject matter!...maybe when we are both famous artists we will do a crossover!)

Perhaps...perhaps.

Elijah's Song and All-Nighter take place in the same world, but they are separate stories. I don't know if the characters from either will ever meet, but.....

This guy is the villain of All-Nighter:

Hopefully, i will do Elijah's Song stuff soon.

And yeah, that'd be AWESOME dude!  I really like your own story, it has the gritty feel that I imagined for this world.

Ah okay. I went back and re-read the info. I see now. I also see that you were also experimenting in colored pencil. I want to do some more of that.

Yea, this art and story cannot be anything but gritty.

As you develop Elijah's Song, we will have to compare notes

Yea, I see many points of congruence between Jeff's nightmare and Elijah's song. As you develop the story, we will have to take a closer look.

Thank you!  I try to say as much about the character with one picture as possible.
