I really don't know what I can say about the Fairly OddParents episode It's a Wishful Life that hasn't already been said, so I'll just get right to the point and say how I would rewrite it:
1) While I would keep the opening the same, I'd cut out Cosmo's fish bowl comment.
2) Cosmo and Wanda try to convince Timmy not to go through with the wish (more on this in a minute).
3) Initially, the world seems better without Timmy, but the more that is shown, the worse it gets. This includes: Mr. and Mrs. Turner still being rich, but they wish for a child to share their wealth with (plus the Dinklebergs are shown to be richer than the Turners and they have a talented daughter). Chester's wishes having a negative effect which leads to a big disaster (kinda like Fairy Idol). A.J. still attending a university, but he has no one to show him how to be a kid.
4) Timmy realizes that the world will never be perfect, with or without him, and decides against the wish. After which, Jorgen congratulates Timmy for passing the test and reveals that this was all an illusion, as it is against Da Rules to wish you were never born.
5) Mr. Bickles, A.J., and Timmy's parents apologize to Timmy and pay him back for his kindness. Mr. Bickles uses the background Timmy made for his final production of Waterworld: The Musical, and gives him a large shoutout. A.J. lets Timmy play his games with him and fixes up his "obsolete" computer and gives it to Timmy. Lastly, Timmy's parents thank him for cleaning up their garden and take him out for ice cream. The End.
