Got a lot of comments, requests, demands (?) asking me to do the tutorial ( especially for the hair part)
But because of my poor Eng, I had no confident to do. Then some of you suggested me that I don't have to explain much, just crop and paste to show my working processes is also okay.
So I tried, and here's how it turned out!!!
Usually, I have so many coloring styles. For this time, I chose to begin with the most basic one so I hope everyone can understand it easily. (and not too hard for me to describe
Hope this can help, and sorry if my Eng confused you.
Please feel free to give me the comment, suggestion or question, etc you want to ^^
Thanks so much for viewing!!! m (_ _) m

FAQ
Q : Is this all done on the same layer?
A : Yes. I just changed the layer properties from Multiply to Normal layer later.
Q : I would like to ask what kind of setting do you have your brushes on? or are there any special brushes that you use?
A : No any special brushes, I think it's the default brushes which came with Photoshop ^^
Q : Did you used smudge on the hair to make it looks smooth??
A : Sometimes, but for this pic, I didn't. I used two type of brushes to weigh the shading instead.
Q : Why do you do everything on the same layer?
A : Because the RAM of my comp is not very high, and it will be very slow, if I use too many layers
Anyway, for this pic, I had no need to use, just only one layer was enough. And it's also my style to color in this way.
Q : What does multiply do?
A : The Multiply layer will help you to see the direction of the hair from the pencil lineart when you shaded it at first.

That was very helpful and I got a few tips from there. I've been going through a lot of tutorials but I find the most simple styles are the best at the beginning so this one really gave me some thoughts to bonder. It's a good thing, I assure you.

mrsloth In reply to hikarukaze [2008-09-12 11:37:17 +0000 UTC]
I still saw them in my Photoshop CS2 anyway, and I swear I didn't use any plug-in. (I'm sure they came with every versions of Photoshop though. -_-")
Please go back to check your Photoshop again carefully.
It's the 4th brush arranged from the top, called "Hard Round 9 pixels" brush. And another one called "Soft Round 200 pixels" brush, which you can see from the screen capt I put in my tutorial.
Wish you goodluck!
If you still can't find them, I have no idea how to help you anymore.

Yay! I've always loved your style...it's so pretty and soft looking and I've been wanting to try it out! I don't have a tablet though, so all of my colouring's been done by mouse...but I'll see how it goes...it'll probably take twice as long, and not even half as nice as your work. Thanks for tutorial, though!
