Description
I am really into old houses and especially ones that have been left behind and forgotten. I just keep thinking wow, someone used to live in there and have a life and a family. Now, it seems probable that whoever used to live in those houses have either passed away or just forgotten all about them and never visit them. I guess I get easily stuck on memories and physical objects help me visualize the past more easily. I dunno.....manda

Very good tones. I love old barn too.
Agree with cabra some crop grass. Maybe you would duck to arise the house.
But the composition in general is perfect the soft hill lines bring your atention to the dramatic sky.
Regards.

I get annoyed with them because over here when the parents die, the kids feud over who gets the house, so it ends up never getting used and just falling apart. And in WV nobody knocks down old abandoned houses, they just let mother nature do it over time.
BUT it does make for awesome pictures like this one

Oh I love old houses too. But restored. I guess living in construction and renovation my whole life, really makes you see how poorly designed some of the houses are in WV, but also how beautiful they can be when renovated

The contrast in the house and sky are really good.
Personally, I would have cropped out a lot more of the bottom of this photo... For some reason I don't really like grass fields in black and white... OH! and that would make your subject less centered.
I like it a lot!

C'est tres belle.
A beautiful photo, I love this black and white. I think the darkness actually enhanses the caractor of the photo expecially with the clouds in mind.

my good ness.. i usually am not verry impressed with black and white anymore because i feel it lacks tone and emotion.. but this makes me change my mind. it's deep and rich, and it looks like the house i live in with the same kinda of yard i feel very attached to this photo. i love it !!!

I just used the highlighting in photoshop CS to bring it out. It was near dark and the sun was just about down but i was in the right spot to get the last bit of light out of it thanks for the comment!
