Starling on a LogA Cape Glossy Starling sat perfectly on a log that contrasted majestically with it's background.

Great capture of a very beautiful bird !
May I ask why did you use a flash ? Does it have any effect at this distance or was is just to get a catchlight in the eye ?

Thanks for looking. Flash was for the catchlight and to bring out a little of the detail in some of the very dark blacks nestled amongst the purples of this bird. Well spotted!
