His feelings are hidden behind all that ink? But....his eyes can't hide them...they say too much.
I'm guessing that the artists comments refers to death, but either way, this is a very powerful photo.

I don't 'get' face tattoos in that I personally would never get one, but I'm not this guy and can't presume to speak for his choices. Artistically this is a great shot. The close, direct angle works well: nowhere to look but straight into the man's tired eyes. Color contrasts between the dark tattoo lines and the red of his eyes is also great.
A photo that leaves me wanting more.

I really like the way you show his eyes. It's like the primary focus of this photo. I wonder what could eb behind those eyes. Pain, anger, sorrow, regret..? This very breathtaking and you very much deserved this DD.

I covered his right side and his left side and put my focus on each eye itself. The left eye speaks of fear, panic and sadness. And the right eye reley the feelings of anger, maby wrath and also sadness to me.
Such an powerfull portrait of a human being. A human being with tattoos, yes. But he has those tattoos for a reason and you captured some of this reason in the photo.

I did this too, but to me, his left side looks like he is pleading, and his right side looks determined. Funny how different people can see different things in the same photo, no?

And its so interesting how much we can interpret in such an emotional photo. I get the vibe that he might have been in a war or lost his loved one/s in a tragedy. You know, so this sad-determined/angry expression arise.

I'm just a concerned citizen. It could be something as simple as Vitamin D deficiency, or something as complicated as Hepatitis. Honestly, if the artist knows this person, he should make an effort to get the guy some medical attention.

There's a huge bias against face tattoos.
I understand why, considering the face is something
our brains recognize first and all and because it'll
be "hard to get a job, dead weight in society"
blah, blah, blah. But I find it a bit over the top.

An incredible photo. What do the eyes reflect? Imagine what they've seen. So many stories could accompany this piece. Congratulations on the DD, you deserve it!
...The lack compassion for the subject reflected in some of the comments below is pathetic. Not everyone grows up with privilege, and not all who grow up without it are gifted with resiliency.
