Description Ok, a pic drawn after some days. Don´t know what to say, because I didn´t feel like painting anything lately.
Sadly. I know you like my images. But the knowing that I am not able to pay my monthly sick insurance this time makes me sick somehow. I am tired and listen more to sad songs than to happy songs. Even more a reason why I don´t know to draw an image like this one, but I had this idea and wanted to turn it into a small comic.
This is Stan when he was young and owned by a human.
No, that boy does not resemble me. I have a hair color like this too, but not such a hair style LOL
I also never would treat a woozle as bad as he does.
I know that it is not really revealed in which time the Winnie the Pooh adventures took place, but they look like they took place somewhere in the shires of the United Kingdom?
I thought before Stan met Heff, he lived at a house with a young boy at a city which was bigger and more modern than the small villages country side.
I want to reveal some short scenes from his past with comics like this one. So be prepared there will come more.
I find this character so cute, it is also a lot of fun to work with him, he has much potential.
The characters which have a sly and rather bad character are very interesting because you want to know what has made then this way how they are.

Stan belongs to Walt Disney (C)
That boy and story concept, lineart, outwork belongs to me (C)

Judging from the lyrics, sounds like he's listening to Avril Lavigine's "Best Damb Thing".

Yeah, Steve doesn't really seem to be the type to like Avril Lavigine.

I am surprised that he listens to Roxette (that´s the song Stan sings, it is from Roxette) but maybe it was on a tape with many different songs from different bands.

I'll have to look them up. Is Roxette some 80's band?

MrWolf86 In reply to RensMeerkat [2014-08-17 18:24:52 +0000 UTC]

No not really, it was more popular in the early 90s.
But the songs sound like from the 80s.

Is it a German band? I have only heard of them from you.

MrWolf86 In reply to RensMeerkat [2014-08-17 18:37:07 +0000 UTC]

No, it is originally from Sweden, but was popular everywhere at that time.

RensMeerkat In reply to MrWolf86 [2014-08-17 18:39:42 +0000 UTC]

Seems like every band that was popular in the 80's or 90's was from Sweden.Ace of Base for instance and I was going to say Falco "Rock me Amadeus" but apparently they were from Austria.

MrWolf86 In reply to RensMeerkat [2014-08-17 18:44:01 +0000 UTC]

Yes right, Dr. Alban also was from Sweden and Aha was from Norway XD
Falco also makes cool music. And I also like AceofBase.

RensMeerkat In reply to MrWolf86 [2014-08-17 18:48:47 +0000 UTC]

Never heard of Dr. Alban. Are Aha the ones who did that "Take on me, take me on" song?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrWolf86 In reply to RensMeerkat [2014-08-17 20:37:05 +0000 UTC]

Yes that´s Aha.
The two most famous songs of Dr. Alban are It's my life (which was an alltime favorite song of mine) and 'Sing halelulja' not sure if I wrote that correctly.

I always liked these kinds of characters best too. Winnie the Pooh did indeed take place in the UK. The author was British. Disney has Americanised it somewhat, by adding such characters as a groundhog and a bluebird in one series, which is a bit sad really. There's no need to do that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrWolf86 In reply to Silvolf [2014-04-13 11:34:52 +0000 UTC]

True, Gopher is a groundhog and Kessy is a blue jay or something.
Those only live in the US.

tymime [2014-04-12 19:05:32 +0000 UTC]

The first Winnie the Pooh book came out in 1926 (in England), but the TV series seems to make it roughly contemporary.

MrWolf86 In reply to tymime [2014-04-12 19:11:55 +0000 UTC]

Are there any episodes in the New adventures with Winnie the Pooh where they were at the house of Christopher Robin?
If yes, we may see it from the interior of the rooms and can guess which time it plays in.
The series came out in the 80s as far as I know.
On the other hand the rural areas in the UK are really like once upon a time LOL

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tymime In reply to MrWolf86 [2014-04-12 20:39:29 +0000 UTC]

I haven't seen all the episodes, but I doubt you ever see his room.
The series started in 1988, and while there aren't any explicit references to '80s pop culture, it mentions things like monster movies and such. The movies are even more ambiguous, so I guess it doesn't really matter, huh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrWolf86 In reply to tymime [2014-04-12 22:02:37 +0000 UTC]

Haha yep that I think too. If there are monster movies mentioned, I guess it doesn´t make sense to argue what time the series played in.

Some stories don't take place in any particular time period, like The Incredibles.

MrWolf86 In reply to PatchestheCalico [2014-04-12 18:11:02 +0000 UTC]

Thank you
Well most people don´t like woozles because they are sly and steal.
I remember that episode where Rabbit said 'How just can you think about to share with those nasty heffalumps and woozles' then pooh said 'If I share with you, and you share with me, I also could share with them if there is any left' and Piglet then says 'But,...they are heffalumps and woozles' and Pooh then said 'Maybe they don´t know any better'
I have the feeling that the others who live in the forest have many prejudices against them. Pooh is the only one who offered to share with them.

PatchestheCalico In reply to MrWolf86 [2014-04-12 18:22:29 +0000 UTC]

Well, I love them because they're sly and slinky. X3 I've always had a soft spot for the 'bad' animal characters.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrWolf86 In reply to PatchestheCalico [2014-04-12 18:29:41 +0000 UTC]

LOL I personally find them intelligent, maybe it is a connection with sly characters, you need at least a bit of intelligence to be sly. What your decisions are is something completely different. That´s why I like anti-heroes.
They combine both good and bad. They are intelligent, sneaky, sly, probably sometimes being on the bad side when it suits their interest and sometimes made good decisions and safe someone's life and then disappear before someone will notice XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PatchestheCalico In reply to MrWolf86 [2014-04-12 18:42:44 +0000 UTC]

True. :3 And I say I like 'bad' characters in that they seem a bit more realistic with me, and ones I can relate to. They seem to me the ones that made a bad decision for whatever reason, and no one will stop and try to help them, so they keep doing what they do.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrWolf86 In reply to PatchestheCalico [2014-04-12 19:13:38 +0000 UTC]

Hmm yeah true, maybe a reason why so many people can compare their own personality with bad characters.

I can see my Timon plushie  being like a "mentor" to my Tails plushie because I sleep with them both now and cling to my Tails plushie when having a panic attack just like I do my Timon one. I'm always finding pencils underneath my matress, maybe Timon uses them for walking canes since he's so up there in years and can't stand up on his own. Timon may have Pumbaa in the Lion King and Tails may have Sonic, but in Toy Story, the toys didn't always act like their TV counterparts.

LOl true like actors are not always like those characters they play in movies.

RensMeerkat In reply to MrWolf86 [2014-04-12 23:25:28 +0000 UTC]

I don't think my Sonic plushie would have very much to say anyway because I had to remove his mouth...he had this creepy "Billy Idol sneer" that made Billy Idol look like he has "the horse that just passed gas" face.  I always planned on fixing it up and giving him a simple smile.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrWolf86 In reply to RensMeerkat [2014-04-13 11:02:37 +0000 UTC]

I wonder how his original smile looks like because I have no imagination in my head how a sonic plushy looks with a Billy Idol smile LOL
