Description

This is a thing which happened to me and a few of my friends yesterday. When I came back home, I HAD to make a comic of this scene.

The day started rather normal. I just went to my working place and we planned to make a big breakfast for all of our team so a few of my friends and me went out to buy all the food needed for it as a near supermarket.

(My friends have visible disabilities and I was wearing my wolf costume you already know)

Okay, we started to collect all the food and my friends noticed a guy who just filmed us with his smartphone.

I shrugged it off because I don´t care about such things much. You know, fursuiters gonna be an attraction and draw attention to them.

But after a while, when we got all the items needed for our little breakfast party, the teller came to us approaching especially me that I shouldn´t look like that and remove my mask. I told her that I can´t just take it off so easily, but why would she ask this in the first place?

She then said that two customers complained about my look and that I would irritate the people with it.

I said we're just buying food and don´t do anything to the people, we just do our stuff and are almost finished and will leave now anyway so it shouldn´t be a big deal. She then stalked off, rather annoyed because I didn´t just do as she pleased and said from a distance that it is not halloween which would justify such a look and that this isn´t normal.

I just shouted into her direction that I am not a normal person in general, so she couldn´t expect me to just look like a normal person and my friends do neither.

Then we just paid our stuff and she was rather grumpy and unfriendly (but they have always been rather grumpy at this supermarket, no matter how I looked) and we got out and had our breakfast.

But really, isn´t this just discrimination?

If you get such prejudice because you are not looking like the average human person?

Even when you don´t even to anything bad and not even trying to get into a talk to strangers and just ignore strangers, I don´t really get why humans are like this.
