I know, Peach and Toadstool are one in the same...They're only "different incarnations" in the West. She was always Princess Peach in Japan and she always had blonde hair. It's just that blonde hair was hard to render back then due to the color limitations on 8-bit machines, so brown/red hair was the default. And the Super Mario Bros. Super Show based its colors on the game sprites rather than the Japanese art.

The plot would go like this: the Mario bros, toad, and the princess are in the mushroom kingdom, when out of nowhere, koopa comes in and kidnaps her to his castle, where he straps her down on a table leaning up, and her eyelids being held up. Then he turns on a monitor where a pink and yellow spiral appears and she's now hypnotized

I forgot to tell how the plot ends. So the Mario bros and toad head off to bowser castle to save the princess, only to see that she's been hypnotized already, and has been ordered to attack them. While Mario and Luigi deal with the hypnotized peach, toad sees a device on koopas head that is controlling her. He runs over to koopa and takes off the device, stopping peach from dropping the Mario bros off a ledge. Koopa is defeated once again, and the crew runs off to peach's castle. When they get there, they see that peach is still hypnotized, so they try to wake her out of her trance. Nothing works until Mario grabs her by the sides of her dress and kisses her on the lips. She then snaps out of the trance, and the episode ends
