Backstory:

Reina was born in a rich district in the capital city of Zokerra. Despite being born into a rich family, she didn't have an easy life. Her parents were strict, and demanded nothing but perfection from their broods, so Reina was enrolled in the toughest private schools. Being the leaders of their brood, Reina's parents rarely ever took care of her themselves, especially her mother.

However, he father did his best to love his children, despite them being soo numerous, but he had a special connection with Reina and did his best to push her to her limit as a form of affection, making sure she excelled in everything. When his daughter did excel, he rewarded her with a ride in different military vehicles and visits to different museums, the wails of his excited child always would make him smile. This strict discipline would make her into the person she is today.

Her early education made her fly past her classmates, excelling in all of her classes. She was a natural savant, tailored to perfection in her studies. By the time she was fourteen, she was already in Prime School (College). She never made alot of friends, only focusing on her studies, flight simulator games, crushing online scores. Reina was fascinated by her family's military history, which would fuel her future motivation, determined to out do her ancestors and her father. Reina had an unyielding passion for flight following that, she and her family were full of pride as she entered the Zoken Naval Academy at age 22 the moment she was considered a legal adult.

There she enrolled in the 7th Training Regiment, meeting her first real friends. The first few years were great for her, she rose up in rank becoming a Matron, being the youngest ever to lead a Training Regiment. She quickly became a legend at the academy in her first year for her tutoring and oddly playful nature, opening up easily to others, and being optimistic and cheery. Reina even learned how to do exotic mating dances from her friend Kassa to tease the males of their Regiment during down time hours. In the following year, she met her first mating partner Ominnu. He was a young, shy pilot at the time and was considered to be the best pilot in the academy, she was jealous of him, envious and desired him deeply as their relationship solidified throughout the next couple of years.

After five years of flight training at the age of 27, Reina finally flew her first ZD-89 (Zoketarian Darter) Space Fighter, she immediately mastered the five ton machine as if she was born to do so, performing maneuvers that would even make her mate blush. She spent the year stationed on a Carrier on patrol in the outer colonies with Ominnu and her friends, performing basic scouting missions and even taking down a pirate frigate with just a handful of pilots, Reina's quick thinking and tactics saved her friends, giving her a swift promotion to Flight Cadet along with Ominnu.

Later that year however, the outer frontier was being swarmed with pirate activity, Reina and her friends were later assigned to go on routine patrol for the next three years to quell the sudden spike in pirate raids. A few months after arriving, on their third assignment, Reina and Ominnu went on patrol to get a read out on an bogeys in the sector, following the chem trails from a destroyer they were hunting for the last couple of days, leading them to a gas giant, several times larger than Jupiter. The Night before, Reina and Ominnu were in a throw of passion, as their mating concluded with exhausted, loving embraces, she made a bet with Ominnu, that if he took out the first two fighters they encounter tomorrow, she'd invite her friend Kassa and have a three way with him. It was a playful bet and he couldn't step away from a challenge, he accepted. Reina would soon regret her impassioned words.

The duo spotted their first set of targets, a pair of pirate scout fighters, oddly close to the planetary body, nearly enshrouded in a field of asteroid debris. Ominnu went on ahead in his darter at full speed, the thought of being with two such lovely females played through his mind, blurring his thinking, his once shy nature burned away from a newly forged strong ego from the years we was with Reina. She called him on a com, picking up on the suspicious situation...

"Ominnu something isn't right here, there shouldn't be short range fighters here, especially this close to a gas giant. We need to watch them and see where their next heading is before we engage!"

Ominnu was just showing off at this point, his dart fighter weaving and dodging effortlessly through the debris field, doing a Death Spiral through an asteroid, mowing through it easily.

"Oh Come on my Nalla, these are scrubs, they'll be taken out in a few clicks! All I have to do is after burn and i'll have a good several kilometers before I need to dive back out, I'll be sharing bunks with you and your friend before lunch~"

Reina struggled to keep up, pushing her fighter's engines past their limits, but he was really over doing it, more than usual.. She called out to her mate.

"You idiot, don't maneuver like that! You're getting too close to the Gas Giant's Gravity well! This isn't right and you damn well know it Omi! Screw the bet, let's get back to the Carrier! This is too risky!"

He just laughed..

"Come on my little Nalla we push the envelope every time and got out on mission... EVERYTIME! I'm going to win this time~"

Reina was serious..

"We weren't being stupid those times..but this time every inch of me is telling me this is wrong! Get back into position this instant Omi! That's an order!"

Ominnu wouldn't listen to her pleads, he punches the engines to max and effortlessly takes out the two fighters in spectacular fashion. His fighter kept heading torwards the planet however. It would seem his engine was pushed too hard, he misjudged his heat gauge. The old engine stuttered and Omi didn't have the momentum to begin to turn out of the dive.

"Fack.. the engine shuttered..I can't even get secondary power on.. I thought I fixed this! Reina! Reina! I'm sorry! I facked up...I...I L..."

Just before Reina could attempt a Interception maneuver to nudge her mate to a safer course, the electromagnetic spikes from the planet's atmosphere overpowered Ominnu's craft, knocking out it's communications, despite the emp countermeasure built in, he was too close to the planet, it overloaded the fighter, shutting down all of it's systems. Reina couldn't relay a proper intercept message to begin with. She watched in horror as Omi's fighter plunged into the planet's upper atmosphere, she could only see a bright blip of light as her mate's ship disintegrated and fell apart from the intense gravity well.

Just a few moments later through just after she let out a horrified scream for her lover, she noticed a huge blip on her sensors, it was the large Destroyer they were hunting for, it was easily hidden within the planet's magnetic fields, it's custom sensors were more than enough to give them the scope on their pursuers. Over the com, she could hear laughter from the enemy's crew.

"What fools! They fell for our decoys! Lets breed with this navy bitch and gut her!"

Reina snapped, she began to engage the massive craft by herself, both ships were just out of reach of the planet, the asteroid field it formed around it provided the necessary cover to evade the enemy ship's attacks. Her com was hacked, luckily her ECM was working enough to prevent total loss of control, she could still hear the laughing and ridicule. Her anger eventually melted away, giving her the focus she needed to engage the destroyer. The darter lacked proper weaponry to knock out it's opponent's shields, so she decided to use her fighter's superior speed to out maneuver her foe, causing them to smack right into the asteroids around them. She didn't even need to fire a shot, the debris did the job for her. However, it wasn't quite enough to damage the ship, she was still in a bind.

Suddenly, a fifty meter rock managed to sneak by and smack right into the destroyer's unshielded, left engine, it's dense mass and sharp, jagged exterior ripped right through the ships tough armor, causing a cascading domino effect of failures. She gave a cold stare as she watched her pursuer slowly break apart, she heard the screams of the shocked crew being snuffed out one by one, the explosions were welcome, even comforting sounds. The hunt was over, be she would come home the loser, she had lost her mate over a stupid bet, how unprofessional she thought, how childish..never again.

Later that year, Reina became deeply depressed, obviously stuck with grief, blaming herself and beating herself up over every single mistake she made. As she hunted pirates and smugglers down, she kept pushing herself harder. "WHY WON'T I DIE!?" She thought to herself each time she came back, her instinct to survive always seemed to over power her depression during missions, her attempts to kill herself were in vain. Her friends struggled to help her recover, it would be two years before Reina was able to move on from Omi's death. In the process, she left a nasty kill streak, racking up hundreds of kills, her skill and nack for surviving suicidal odds time and time again during her first tour of duty became legendary as she didn't have a peer that would come close to her level of prowess for decades to come, even after the next disaster that would follow.

At age 45, Reina was a Prime Flight Commander. She kept skipping promotions for Debt Credits to help pay for her ailing father's medication and treatment. At that time, she was testing the newly developed ZI-1, the first efficient fighter capable of hiding from enemy sensors and for the first time carried an AI co-pilot, but it was notorious for being able to perform the nastiest and fastest 'Death Spiral' maneuvers and the AI was at times, too slow to react, putting more pressure on the pilot. (A DSM maneuver is used for ripping right through shields and softening enemy destroyers by slashing through them like giant projectiles.) Such a fighter was intended to be used by only the most seasoned pilots and testers were given huge Debt Credit pay outs, Reina wouldn't have accepted otherwise.

Despite having an AI on board, Reina sucked it up and decided to do the tests, the pay was too good and the price for her dad's specific type of medication was getting too expensive, so it was needed. During a practice run over the Northern Icecap on Zoken, Reina was going to practice the Death Spiral Maneuver (DSM) one last time before heading back. She pushed the ship's engine to it's limits at around 15,000 feet and engaged the DSM drive. However she heard a nasty sound of metal scraping, something within the drive jammed and the fighter was stuck spinning at 2000 rpm. A usual DSM lasts only a few seconds to a minute at most, she was stuck spinning for nearly half an hour, trying desperately to slow the craft down as it headed off course, flying right to a Deep Ice Mine Settlement, housing hundreds of miners and their families. Reina was passed out for nearly fifteen minutes until the faulty AI finally took full control and decided to smash the craft into the ground to prevent a massive loss of life. The black, arrow tip shaped craft smashed into the permafrost ice at just over 500 meters per second, tumbling violently until it finally stopped just within the city limits in an empty patch of snow and ice.
Reina's body, was absolutely shattered, even with the safety measures in place, all of her limbs were ripped off along with her tail and her spine was horrifically damaged. She was paralyzed, barely breathing, by the time she and her craft was recovered. Reina later woke up in a medical ward three years later in an angry fit in a hospital bed, her spine repaired, but with no limbs. Reina was absolutely horrified, she fumbled on the floor, yelling. Nurses and AI Assistant Nurses rushed in to help Reina back onto the bed, she kept thinking it was all over? Where my Friends? Where is my family? She asked desperately, only getting blank reassurances. Her first night after she awoke, she looked up at the ceiling.. She was pissed. Reina wasn't about to lay down and die in hospital, luckily, her father had heard about his daughter's survival... During the two years that would follow, her family, with the help of government loans, retrofitted her with new limbs and got her through a painful mental and physical rehab for she kept refusing the cheaper nanite treatment, fearing she'd be crippled from them like her father was. Her father wasn't about to lose his little girl however, so he understood her choice and agreed to her wishes. unfortunately, the medical bills alone nearly bankrupted her powerful family, crippling it for decades to come.

Reina fully recovered, she was determined to get back to flying and to rid the guilt of causing her family shame for her selfish choice to refuse the nanite treatment, she was adamant on repaying her family debts. At age 55, ten years after the accident, Reina reenlisted into the Navy. Her father still needed her help and almost all of her friends have moved on. It was time to move forward again and to make up for the ten years she has lost.

As Reina waited for a reply for reenlistment, she got a letter from the highest military brass one night, she awoke with her digital assistant flashing. They asked if she would test out the new ZI-2 Stealth Fighter aboard an unspecified ship and it also told her that the new mission was classified. All it promised was a fresh start...with very high pay of course.

Reina simply pressed accept on the digital sheet and went back to bed.
